Answer:Acceleration = Change in Velocity/Time

Change in Velocity = 36-18 = 18 km/h=5 m/s

Time= 5 Seconds

Acceleration = 5/5= 1 m/s2

Equation of motion,s=ut+(1/2)at2

u=18 km/h=5 m/s

t=5 s

a=1 m/s2

s= (5*5)+(1/2*1*5*5)

s=25+12.5 i.e., s=37.5 m

Hope you are clear with my explanations

To change second to hour you need to divide by 60 because 1 minute equal to 60 seconds then divide again by 60 because you want your answer in km/h right? So you will get 360.

A ball is thrown horizontally from a cliff at a speed of 10 m/s. you predict that its speed 1 s later will be slightly greater t
Veseljchak [2.6K]
The horizontal component of speed remains constant at 10 m/s.
After 1 s, a vertical component of speed = gt = 9.8(1) = 9.8 m/s is added to the horizontal speed.
The size of the total speed of the ball after 1 s = √(10²+9.8²) = √196.04 ≈ 14.0 m/s <=
You are correct.
