Marlin conducted an experiment in which independent variable is receiving an ointment and an dependent variable is number of anemone stings.

The people in the control group were neighbors in group B. The independent variable is the application of the ointment. The dependent variable is the number of anemone stings. Marlin’s conclusion should be that the ointment was successful in reduce the stinging power of the anemone. The eight people in group B reported feeling better because they believed that they were receiving the protective ointment.

An experiment must always have a dependent variable and an independent variable. The dependent variable is the variable that changes when the independent variable is manipulated.

In this case, the dependent variable is the number of anemone stings and the independent variable is the application of the ointment.

The experimental group (group A) received the ointment and a significant number of 30 participants reported feeling better meaning that the ointment was successful at protecting participants from anemone stings.

The control group (group B ) did not receive the ointment but received a placebo. Eight participants in that group reported feeling better because they believed that they received the protective ointment.

The experiment is successful and the ointment have been shown to protect people against anemone stings because more than 60% of the participants in the experimental group reported lesser anemone stings whereas only 16% of participants in the control group reported feeling better.

A solution was prepared by mixing 50.0 g
frez [133]

Answer:

4.78 %.

Explanation:

mass percent is the ratio of the mass of the solute to the mass of the solution multiplied by 100.

mass % = (mass of solute/mass of solution) x 100.

mass of MgSO₄ = 50.0 g,

mass of water = d.V = (0.997 g/mL)(1000.0 mL) = 997.0 g.

mass of the solution = mass of water + mass of MgSO₄ = 997.0 g + 50.0 g = 1047.0 g.

∴ mass % = (mass of solute/mass of solution) x 100 = (50.0 g/1047.0 g) x 100 = 4.776 % ≅ 4.78 %.

Please help
What are 4 examples of ionically bonded compounds?
frez [133]
Ionic compounds generally occur between metals and non-metals due to their large electronegativity difference. You can simple go down Group 1 and Group 17 of the periodic table.

Examples:

NaCl (Sodium Chloride)
KCl (Potassium Chloride)
RbCl (Rubidium Chloride)
CsCl (Cesium Chloride)

what are the moon phases. but be more detailed and don't put in "the phases of the moon" be more detailed.
Murrr4er [49]

Explanation:

The lunar phase or Moon phase is the shape of the Moon's directly sunlit portion as viewed from Earth. The lunar phases gradually change over a synodic month as the Moon's orbital positions around Earth and Earth around the Sun shift.

Compare and contrast the functions of each of the following types of flasks: filter, Erlenmeyer, volumetric.
harkovskaia [24]
The Erlenmeyer Flask was introduced in 1861 by German chemist Emil Erlenmeyer and is shaped like a cone. This has a triangular shape and mouth wide for it to be easier to pour and store liquids. The Volumetric flask is used for preparing liquids with volumes of high precision. It has a pear-shaped body and a long neck with a circumferential fill line. The Filter Flask is also known as the A Büchner flask. It is like the Erlenmeyer but this one is thick-walled and has a special arm in the side. It is used for filtering liquid.

Describe the famous experiment related to gravity that Galileo may have performed. Include the results. Also, state whether the
vivado [14]

Answer:

Galileo performed a famous experiment where he used a ball rolling on a ramp (inclined plane) to study the motion of objects under the influence of gravity. The ramp allowed him to make more precise measurements because the ball moved more slowly along the ramp than if it were simply dropped. Galileo discovered through this experiment that the objects fell with the same acceleration, proving his prediction true, while at the same time disproving Aristotle's theory of gravity (which states that objects fall at speed proportional to their mass). Galileo's conclusion from this thought experiment was that no force is needed to keep an object moving with constant velocity. Newton took this as his first law of motion. One result of the experiment surprised Galileo, and one surprises us. Galileo found that the heavy ball hit the ground first, but only by a little bit. Except for a small difference caused by air resistance, both balls reached nearly the same speed. And that surprised him. According to history, Galileo’s experiment on falling bodies largely contributed to Isaac Newton’s Law of Gravity. In Galileo’s experiment, he is said to have dropped balls from the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The balls were made of the same material but had different masses. Galileo set out to prove that the time it took for these objects to reach the ground would be the same. Galileo proved that objects reached the ground at the same time,
