I honestly feel everyone is different but me personally I deal with stress by breathing exercises. It feels good and it makes me get rid of my stress. I also take baths and do my breathing exercises in there as well.
Because humans have five senses: feel, see, taste, hear, and smell. When you step on a nail you basically going to feel it and you brain can sense that and it can trigger nerves which can cause pain.
First you have to detoxicate.
Second you must get some help from others and get treatment such as behavioral counseling.
third evaluation and treatment for co- occurring mental health issues such as depression.
Lastly long-term follow-up to prevent relapse.
