This electric force calculator will enable you to determine the repulsive or attractive force between two static charged particles. Continue reading to get a better understanding of Coulomb's law, the conditions of its validity, and the physical interpretation of the obtained result.

How to use Coulomb's law

Coulomb's law, otherwise known as Coulomb's inverse-square law, describes the electrostatic force acting between two charges. The force acts along the shortest line that joins the charges. It is repulsive if both charges have the same sign and attractive if they have opposite signs.

Coulomb's law is formulated as follows:

F = keq₁q₂/r²

where:

F is the electrostatic force between charges (in Newtons),

q₁ is the magnitude of the first charge (in Coulombs),

q₂ is the magnitude of the second charge (in Coulombs),

r is the shortest distance between the charges (in m),

ke is the Coulomb's constant. It is equal to 8.98755 × 10⁹ N·m²/C². This value is already embedded in the calculator - you don't have to remember it :)

Simply input any three values

Select the correct answer.
IgorC [24]

Answer:

D. Newton's Third Law of Motion

Explanation:

Newton's law of gravity is definitely not applicable to your hands. So we can cross this bad boy out

Newton's First Law is F=MA (force equals mass times acceleration). This is basically the root of most physics but it isn't the reason for your hand being red after hitting a wall.

Newton's Second law deals with velocities and forces, so even though you are apply a force your are not changing the velocity of the wall much.

Newton's Third Law basically says that for whatever force you apply to an object, that object will apply an equal and opposite force back to you. This is why your hand gets red. When you slap the wall with all your strength, the wall hits your hand back with the same amount of force. The 2nd law can also be seen when you're trying to push a desk and it won't budge. You are pushing on it, but the desk is pushing back. (there are multiple other factors applicable like friction but we physicists like to ignore them :) )

I hope this helps!

Which material is more closely related to the styrofoam? a. heat exchanger b. diffuser c. insulator d. electrical conductor
nirvana33 [79]

The material that is more closely related to the Styrofoam insulator.

Styrofoam is the term that is used for polystyrene foam in a trademark form. It is a petroleum-based plastic.

Keeping something warm includes the stopping of the transfer of heat from one object to another. This is how insulation works.

Styrofoam is an insulator, which means it'll help keep the heat from the environment out of your cooler. However, you'll still need cooling agents (like ice packs) to make the cooler cold in the first place.

Styrofoam is usually made mostly of air, which means it is a poor conductor of heat, but an excellent convector. It traps the air in small pockets, which blocks the flow of heat energy. This reduces both conduction and convection and makes Styrofoam a good insulator.

What would increase the force of gravity between two objects?
yulyashka [42]
By Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation.

F =  GMm/r²

Where F is Force of Gravitation, M = Mass of first object, m = mass of second object, r = distance of separation

From the formula, you can see that if the masses, M and m, increased, the value of F would definitely increase as well.

And if r increased the value of F would be reduced because you would be dividing by a bigger number, but when the value of r is decreased the value of F would be increased, because you would then be dividing by something smaller. Note the r is at the denominator of the formula.

So F would increase if there was increase in Masses and decrease in distance.

So the answer is C. a and b.
