The number of mole and mass of carbon dioxide produced by the combustion of 20.0 kg of carbon in an excess of oxygen are:

1. The number of mole of CO₂ produced is 1666.67 moles

2. The mass of CO₂ produced is 73333.48 g

 • We'll begin by calculating the number of mole in 20 Kg of carbon. This can be obtained as follow:

Mass of C = 20 Kg = 20 × 1000 = 20000 g

Molar mass of C = 12 g/mol

Mole of C =?

Mole = mass /molar mass

Mole of C = 20000 / 12

Mole of C = 1666.67 moles

1. Determination of the number of mole of CO₂ produced.

C + O₂ —> CO₂

From the balanced equation above,

1 mole of C reacted to produce 1 mole of CO₂.

Therefore,

1666.67 moles of C will also react to produce 1666.67 moles of CO₂.

Thus, 1666.67 moles of CO₂ were obtained from the reaction.

2. Determination of the mass of CO₂ produced.

Mole of CO₂ = 1666.67 moles

Molar mass of CO₂ = 12 + (16×2) = 44 g/mol

Mass of CO₂ =?

Mass = mole × molar mass

Mass of CO₂ = 1666.67 × 44

Mass of CO₂ = 73333.48 g

Thus, the mass of CO₂ produced from the reaction is 73333.48 g

Which aqueous solution has the highest boiling point?a. 0.20 M NaClb. 0.10 M CaCl2c. 0.1 M Ga2(SO4)3d. 0.2 M C6H12O6
abruzzese [7]

Answer:

c. 0.1 M Ga₂(SO₄)₃

Explanation:

The boiling point increasing of a solvent due the addition of a solute follows the formula:

ΔT = K*m*i

Where K is boiling point increasing constant (Depends of the solute), m is molality = molarity when solvent is water, and i is Van't Hoff factor.

That means the option with the higher m*i will be the solution with the highest boiling point:

a. NaCl has i = 2 (NaCl dissociates in Na⁺ and Cl⁻ ions).

m* i = 0.20*2 = 0.4

b. CaCl₂; i = 3. 3 ions.

m*i= 0.10M * 3 = 0.3

c. Ga₂(SO₄)₃ dissolves in 5 ions. i = 5

m*i = 0.10M*55 = 0.5

d. C₆H₁₂O₆ has i = 1:

m*i = 0.2M*1 = 0.2

The solution with highest boiling point is:

c. 0.1 M Ga₂(SO₄)₃

The red arrow is pointed at different locations of an atom of Helium. Where is it pointing to the GREATEST concentration of atom
Mama L [17]

Answer:

A is the correct answer.

Explanation:

An atom consist of electron, protons and neutrons. Protons and neutrons are present with in nucleus while the electrons are present out side the nucleus.

All these three subatomic particles construct an atom. A neutral atom have equal number of proton and electron. In other words we can say that negative and positive charges are equal in magnitude and cancel the each other. For example if neutral atom has 6 protons than it must have 6 electrons. The sum of neutrons and protons is the mass number of an atom while the number of protons are number of electrons is the atomic number of an atom.

For example in case of Helium:

The 1st one diagram shows that arrow is pointing with in nucleus. The helium nucleus contain two protons and two neutrons. Thus maximum mass is present with in nucleus. while two electrons are revolve around the nucleus and mass of electron is negligible.

How does a physical change differ from a chemical change
inysia [295]

With a physical change you can actually see it change like ice turning into water, then with a chemical change you can't see it change, although within the molecules themselves they change which makes that possible.

Hope this helps!
