A hydraulic lift has pistons with diameter 28cm and 70cm, respectively. If a force of 500 N is exerted at the input piston. What
Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

3125 N

Explanation:

diameter /2 =radius

so r1 =14cm , r2 =35cm

f1/A1 =f2/A2.

f2 = f1 × A2 / A1

=500×1225 pi cm² / 96 pi cm²

f2 =3125N

Explain why bicycles have gears in terms of the force-velocity property of muscle.
denpristay [2]

2 wheels force is put on the back gear to push a larger gear on front . when pedalling on flat force should be applied on middle to smaller size. However when bike reached a terminal force it rider will move to smaller gear and go faster. If bike is going down hill the force of gravity will mean rider can manage the smallest gear as in fastest speed as Force = Mass × Velocity and the impact of gravity means less force is required as the weight of the bike and rider However the opposite it through for uphill as the rider is going against gravity ..weight and gravity will mean the rider will need to go to the larger gear the slower speed.

There are other factors as in wind and slip stream and type of pedals to maximise the force.

In the space around a permanent magnet, where is the magnetic field the strongest?
BlackZzzverrR [31]

near the north and south poles of the magnet

Explanation:

Magnetic fields around a permanent magnet is strongest near the north and south poles of the magnet.

Magnetic fields are the region of space around a magnet where magnetic effects are felt.

  • This is as a result of a force field that surrounds the magnet.
  • Magnetic fields are strongest within the magnet.
  • Also, externally, they are strongest at the poles of a magnet.
  • Around the poles, magnetic lines of force leaves and enters a magnet.
