The periodic table is called the periodic table because it repeats. All the elements on the periodic table are arranged by atomic number so the elements repeat. It’s almost like in school when you have switch classes they repeat as well. It’s very fascinating to see all these elements organized it the way that that they are.

The periodic table is named as such as it is split into groups with the same number of electrons in the outer shell. These groups can also be called periods which is where the table gets its name from.

Calculate the number of moles in a 2.98 g sample of aluminum.
Ksju [112]
Molar mass Aluminium ( Al) = 26.98 g/mol

1 mole ------------ 26.98 g
? mole ----------- 2.98 g

moles Al = 2.98 x 1 / 26.98

moles Al = 2.98 / 26.98

= 0.110 moles

hope this helps!

Which pair of atoms has the highest electronegativity difference?
rjkz [21]

The B. Ca-F pair has the greatest electronegativity difference.

Electronegativities increase from the lower left to the upper right in the Periodic Table.

Ca is closest to the lower left, and F is in the upper right, so the Ca-F bond has the greatest electronegativity difference.

If the temperature is kept constant, what change in volume would cause the pressure of an enclosed gas to be reduced to one-th
joja [24]
Using the ideal gas equation pV = nRT, where R is the ideal gas constant, we can show that p=nRT/V. Since n, R and T are all constants, p2/p1 = V1/V2 where p1 and p2 are the start and final pressures respectively and V1 and V2 are the start and final volumes respectively. For if p1 = 3*p2, the pressure would have fallen to one third of its original value, and it follows that V2 = 3*V1. Therefore, for the pressure to fall to a third of its original value, the volume must increase by a factor of 3.
