Explain why a strong acid must have a weak conjugate base
mojhsa [17]

Explanation:

The specie produced when a strong acid is dissociated in water along with the proton is the conjugate base of that acid.

Consider a strong acid such as HCl which donates the proton so readily as it is a strong base and there is no tendency for conjugate base, which is Cl^- to re accept that proton.

A strong base is the one which accepts proton and holds it firmly. Thus, the strong acid has weak conjugate base.

A neutron walks into a gas station to buy some snacks. He ask the cashier ,"How much"? The cashier replies,"For you? No charge."
alexandr1967 [171]
Neutrons are neutral, so they don’t have a positive or negative charge. Hence, the cashier says no charge for the neutron. It is quite funny when you think about it lol.

Which of the following is a correct variation of the Joule's law equation? O A. P= I x R2 OB. P = V + OC. P = 12 V OD. P = V2 R
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

P=\dfrac{V^2}{R}

Explanation:

Power is defined as the rate at which energy is dissipated.

Its mathematical form is given by :

P = VI

Where

V is voltage and I is current

Using Ohm's law :

I=\dfrac{V}{R}, R is resistance

Joule's law equation is given by :

P=\dfrac{V^2}{R}

Hence, the correct option is (d).

6 How many moles are in a 321 g sample of magnesium?
Tatiana [17]

Answer:

13.4mol of Mg

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of magnesium = 321g

Unknown:

Number of moles  = ?

Solution:

The number of moles of a substance is given as;

  Number of moles  = \frac{mass}{molar mass}

 Molar mass of Mg = 24g/mol

 Insert the parameters and solve;

        Number of moles  = \frac{321}{24}   = 13.4mol of Mg
