Answer:

A. 47 protons and 58 neutrons, 47 protons and 64 neutrons

B. 47 electrons

Explanation:

While it is possible for two isotopes of a particular element to have different atomic masses, it is. It is impossible for the number of protons or the atomic number of the isotopes to be different.

To answer this question properly, we would be needing the proton number or the atomic number of silver. The atomic number of silver is 47. Let’s say the isotopes are A and B respectively.

The number of protons in the same is equal which is 47. The number of neutrons is different and can be obtained by subtracting the number of protons from the mass number.

For A: neutrons = 105 - 47 = 58

For B: neutrons = 111 - 47 = 64

Since Both are electrically neutral, the number of orbiting electrons is also equals the number of protons which is equal to 47.

Are the following statements true or false? (a) Formal charges represent an actual separation of charges. true false (b) ΔH o rx
katrin [286]

Answer:

Explanation:

A) Formal charges represent an actual separation of charges.(FALSE)

(B) ΔHo rxn can be estimated from the bond enthalpies of reactants and products.(TRUE)

C)All second-period elements obey the octet rule in their compounds(FALSE).

(D)The resonance structures of a molecule can be separated from one another in the laboratory.(FALSE)

Bond enthalpy which is also reffered to as bond energy is the amount of energy that is required to break one mole of a bond.

taking the single bond between Oxygen and Hydrogen into considerationthe bond energy between their single bond is 463 kJ/mol.

formal charge is used for the comparison of the number of electrons present around an atom in a particular molecule with the number of electrons present around a neutral

How many sigma bonds does CS2 have?
Pie

Answer:

2 sigma bonds

CS2 is called carbon disulphide. The 2 unpaired electrons of each sulphur atom get paired with the 4 unpaired electrons of carbon. But it is a double bond. That is, 2 sigma bonds (sigma s-p , sigma p-p) and 2 pi (πp-p) bonds.
