From a quick scan, the quakes happen along plate boundaries as in tectonics. this is when a few trillion (1000 000 000 000) tons of earth move, albeit slowly, relative to each other, and various places feel the enormous forces generated. There is also the "ring of fire" which could be associated here as in the lines where volcanic activity occurs - witness Mt Etna, Sicilia, Italia, Europe at the moment.

Relative movements of these tons of earth can be head on (forming lumps in the earth aka ridges and mountains) or sliding against each other. Not wise places to go for relaxing quiet holidays ... unless the holiday maker is addicted to risk.

You move a 25 N object 5 meters. If it takes 8 s how much power did you do?
klasskru [66]

Answer:

15.625 watts

Explanation:

Recall that power is defined as the worked performed per unit of time:

Power = Work / time

The work done is Force * distance, so in our case the work is:

Work = 25 M * 5 m = 125 J

Then the power will be:

Power = 125 J / 8 sec = 15.625 watts

A 34-kg child runs with a speed of 2.8 m/s tangential to the rim of a stationary merrygo-round. The merry-go-round has a momentu
tekilochka [14]

Answer: 0.43\ rad/s

Explanation:

Given

Mass of child m=34\ kg

speed of child is v=2.8\ m/s

Moment of inertia of merry go round is I=510\ kg.m^2

radius r=2.31\ m

Conserving the angular momentum

\Rightarrow mvr=I\omega \\\Rightarrow 34\times 2.8\times 2.31=510\times \omega\\\\\Rightarrow \omega=\dfrac{219.912}{510}\\\Rightarrow \omega=0.43\ rad/s

How does the shape of an plane wing help it to lift off the ground and fly
Licemer1 [7]
<span>a planes engines are designed to move it forward at high speed. That makes air flow rapidly over the </span>wings<span>, which throw the air down toward the </span>ground<span>, generating an upward force called </span>lift<span> that overcomes the </span>plane's<span> weight and holds it in the sky. ... The </span>wings<span> force the air downward and that pushes the </span>plane<span> upward</span>
