Mass of metal is 8.37 g, volume of water in graduated cylinder is 20 mL. After adding the metal, water level increases to 23.1 mL. The volume of metal is equal to the increase in water level.

The increase in water level can be calculated by taking difference of final and initial level of water.

Thus,

V_{metal}=V_{f}-V_{i}=(23.1-20)mL=3.1 mL

Density of metal is defined as mass per unit volume of metal. It can be calculated as follows:

d=\frac{m}{V}=\frac{8.37 g}{3.1 g/mL}=2.7 g/mL

This value corresponds to the density of aluminum.

Therefore, density is 2.7 g/mL and metal is aluminum.

What is electronic configuration? What is the Law of Constant Composition?
Dovator [93]

Answer:

The law of constant proportions states that chemical compounds are made up of elements that are present in a fixed ratio by mass. This implies that any pure sample of a compound, no matter the source, will always consist of the same elements that are present in the same ratio by mass.

Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

Neither arre correct

Explanation:

Neither Anya nor Braden are correct. This is because if you use 90 degrees, 180 degrees, or even 270 degrees you will not get the exact image, which means that the image will not be found by just a rotation because there will be a curve in the image. You can solve it if you can do 90 degree rotation and translation.

A reaction in the laboratory yields 5.98 g KAI(SO2)2, How many moles of potassium aluminum
Ivahew [28]

Answer:

0.0308 mol

Explanation:

In order to convert from grams of any given substance to moles, we need to use its molar mass:

 • Molar mass of KAI(SO₂)₂ = MM of K + MM of Al + (MM of S + 2*MM of O)*2
 • Molar mass of KAI(SO₂)₂ = 194 g/mol

Now we calculate the number of moles of KAI(SO₂)₂ contained in 5.98 g:

 • 5.98 g ÷ 194 g/mol = 0.0308 mol

Define the law conservation of mass
denis23 [38]

Answer:

Explanation:

The law of conservation of mass or principle of mass conservation states that for any system closed to all transfers of matter and energy, the mass of the system must remain constant over time, as the system's mass cannot change, so the quantity can neither be added nor be removed.

hope it helps
