The exit temperature is 586.18K and  compressor input power is 14973.53kW

Data;

  • Mass = 50kg/s
  • T = 288.2K
  • P1 = 1atm
  • P2 = 12 atm

<h3>Exit Temperature </h3>

The exit temperature of the gas can be calculated isentropically as

\frac{T_2}{T_1} = (\frac{P_2}{P_1})^\frac{y-1}{y}\\ y = 1.4\\ C_p= 1.005 Kj/kg.K\\

Let's substitute the values into the formula

\frac{T_2}{T_1} = (\frac{P_2}{P_1})^\frac{y-1}{y} \\\frac{T_2}{288.2} = (\frac{12}{1})^\frac{1.4-1}{1.4} \\ T_2 = 586.18K

The exit temperature is 586.18K

<h3>The Compressor input power</h3>

The compressor input power is calculated as

P= mC_p(T_2-T_1)\\P = 50*1.005*(586.18-288.2)\\P= 14973.53kW

The compressor input power is 14973.53kW

Which system of linear inequalities is represented by the graph? y &gt; x – 2 and y x + 1 y x + 1 y &gt; x – 2 and y &lt; x + 1
KatRina [158]

Answer:

The graph representing the linear inequalities is attached below.

Explanation:

The inequalities given are :

y>x-2   and y<x+1

For tables for values of x and y and get coordinates to plot for both equation.

In the first equation;

y>x-2

y=x-2

y-x = -2

The table will be :

x    y

-2  -4

-1    -3

0     -2

1      -1

2      0

The coordinates to plot are : (-2,-4) , (-1,-3), (0,-2), (1,-1) ,(2,0)

Use a dotted line and shade the part right hand side of the line.

Do the same for the second inequality equation and plot then shade the part satisfying the inequality.

The graph attached shows results.

Is it possible to have a heat engine with efficiency of 100%?
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

No

Explanation:

Heat engines are used for converting the heat into mechanical energy which is used for doing mechanical work.

The efficiency of heat engine is the fraction of mechanical energy to the thermal energy. The efficiency can not be 100% as some of the energy always loss due to friction and motion of the body parts of the heat engine.

creativ13 [48]

Answer:

C: compressor

Explanation:

As it states in the text, Unfortunately, the pump or compressor in a fluid power system is often noisy and heavy. This aspect of the fluid power system is a critical area of interest for engineers and scientists who seek to improve fluid power.
