Two blocks are connected by a massless rope over a massless, frictionless pulley, as shown in the figure. The mass of block 2 is

2=11.3 kg , and the coefficient of kinetic friction between block 2 and the incline is =0.200 . The angle of the incline is 31.5° . If block 2 is moving up the incline at constant speed, what is the mass 1 of block 1?

What is tension in physics?

A tension force in physics is a force developed in a rope, string, or cable when stretched under an applied force.

Tension is acted along the length of the rope/cable in a direction that is opposite to the force applied on it.

According to the question,

Mass of block 2= 11.3 kg

Kinetic friction μ=0.200

The component of the weight in the direction of the incline

W = m₂gsinθ

T = F_{f}  - W........(1)

When the force of friction

F_{f} = μ_kN

F_{f} = μ_k(m₂gcosθ)

Here , Put the value in equation 1

T = m₂gcos 31.5° - μ_km₂gcos 31.5°

We know that ,

T - m₁g = 0

T = m₁g

So,

m₁g = m₂g (Sin 31.5° - 0.200 x cos 31.5°)

m₁ = 11.3 x (0.0840 - 0.2 x 0.996)

m₁ = 11.3 x (0.1152)

m₁ = 1.30176 kg

Hence, the mass of block 1 is 1.30176 kg.

11. A 6.0‐m wire with a mass of 50 g, is under tension. A transverse wave, for which the frequency is 810 Hz, the wavelength is
Irina-Kira [14]

Answer:

Time will be 19 ms so option (a) is correct option

Explanation:

We have given that mass of wire m = 50 gram = 0.5 kg

Frequency f = 810 Hz

Wavelength = 0.4 m

Velocity is given by

v=wavelength\times frequency=810\times 0.4=324m/sec

Amplitude is given as d = 6 m

So time t=\frac{distance}{velocity}=\frac{6}{324}=0.01851=19ms

So option (a) is correct option

A 0.40 kg object is attached to a spring with force constant 157 N/m so that the object is allowed to move on a horizontal frict
nirvana33 [79]

Answer:

Part a)

F = 26.7 N

Part b)

a = 66.7 m/s^2

Explanation:

Part a)

Force on the object due to spring force is given as

F = kx

here we know that

k = 157 N/m

x = 0.17 m

so we have

F = 157\times 0.17

F = 26.7 N

Part b)

Acceleration of the object is given as

a = \frac{F}{m}

a = \frac{26.7}{0.40}

a = 66.7 m/s^2

goblinko [34]

Answer:

v = 2.974

Explanation:

Perhaps the formula should be

v = √(2*g*d (sin(θ) - uk*cos(θ) )                    This is a bit easier to read.

v = √(2* 9.80*0.725(0.707 - 0.12*0.707) )   Substitute values. Find 2*g*d

v = √14.21 * (0.707 - 0.0849)                        Figure out Sin(θ) - uk cos(θ)

v = √14.21 * (0.6222)

v = √8.8422 Take the square root of the value

v = 2.974

The table shows the specific heat capacities of various substances. How much energy is required to raise the temperature of 5g o
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

Q = 50.25 [J]

Explanation:

To solve this problem we must use the following equation that relates the temperature change with the mass and with the specific heat.

Q = m*Cp*(DT)

where:

Q = energy in form of heat [J]

m = mass = 5 [g] = 0.005 [kg]

Cp = specific heat = 1005 [J/kg*°C]

DT = temperature change = 10 [°C]

Now replacing:

Q = 0.005*1005*10

Q = 50.25 [J]
