Given data

  efficiency (η) = 65 %

                        = 0.65

  Machine provides (Work done by the machine) = 1300 × 50

                                                                                 = 65000 J

  efficiency (η) = work done by the machine ÷ work supplied to the machine

               0.65 =  65000 ÷ Input work

              Input work = 100000 J

                                = 100 KJ

Why do you think this is called a high-pressure system? ______________________
madam [21]

Answer:

High in the atmosphere, air pressure decreases. With fewer air molecules above, there is less pressure from the weight of the air above. Places where the air pressure is high, are called high pressure systems. A low pressure system has lower pressure at its center than the areas around it.

A small insect is placed 3.75 cm from a +4.00 −cm -focal-length lens. Calculate the angular magnification.
aev [14]

Explanation:

It is given that,

Object distance, u = -3.75 cm  (negative always)

Focal length, f = +4 cm

We need to find the angular magnification of the lens. Firstly, we will find the image distance using lens formula as :

\dfrac{1}{v}-\dfrac{1}{u}=\dfrac{1}{f}

\dfrac{1}{v}=\dfrac{1}{f}+\dfrac{1}{u}

\dfrac{1}{v}=\dfrac{1}{4}+\dfrac{1}{(-3.75)}

v = -60 cm

Angular magnification is as the ratio of image distance to the object distance i.e.

m=\dfrac{v}{u}

m=\dfrac{-60\ cm}{-3.75\ cm}

m = +16

So, the angular magnification of the insect is 16. Hence, this is the required solution.

4. Neglecting air resistance, which of the following trajectory angles (measured from the horizon) will result in the greatest h
galben [10]

Answer:

b. 40 degrees

Explanation:

Range = (U²Sin2tita)/g

Let's assume a constant velocity of 1 m/s and acceleration of 10 m/s² and try the following angles.

For 10 degree

Range= (sin20)/10

Range = 0.034m

For 40 degrees

Range= sin80/10

Range = 0.098m

For 70 degrees

Range = sin140/10

Range = 0.064

For 90 degrees

Range = sin180/10

Range = 0

Comparing the above result, we can see the degree with the highest range is degree 40.
