The correct option is (d) Nonane.

Nonane parent chain of the following compound.

What are hydrocarbons?

Hydrocarbons are any of a group of organic compounds that exclusively contain the elements carbon (C) and hydrogen (H) (H). The structural framework of the molecule is formed by a number of interactions between the hydrogen and carbon atoms.

What is hydrocarbon made of?

Hydrocarbons, which are only composed of carbon and hydrogen, make up the majority of crude oil, refined petroleum hydrocarbons (including gasoline, diesel, kerosene, fuel oil, and lubricating oil), coal tar, creosote, dyestuff, and pyrolysis waste products.

A certain chemical reaction releases 36.2 kJ/g of heat for each gram of reactant consumed. How can you calculate what mass of re
Lilit [14]

Answer:

0.038 g of reactant

Explanation:

Data given:

Heat release for each gram of reactant consumption = 36.2 kJ/g

mass of reactant that release 1360 J of heat = ?

Solution:

As 36.2 kJ of heat release per gram of reactant consumption so first we will convert KJ to J

As we know

1 KJ = 1000 J

So

36.2 kJ = 36.2 x 1000 = 36200 J

So it means that in chemical reaction 36200 J of heat release for each gram of reactant consumed so how much mass of reactant will be consumed if 1360 J heat will release

Apply unity formula

36200 J of heat release ≅ 1 gram of reactant

1360 J of heat release ≅ X gram of reactant

Do cross multiplication

              X gram of reactant = 1 g x 1360 J / 36200 J

              X gram of reactant = 0.038 g

So 0.038 g of reactant will produce 1360 J of heat.

Why are most solid ionic compounds electrically nonconductive, whereas aqueous solutions of ionic compounds are good conductors
Allisa [31]

Answer:

there must be free-moving electrons in a compound to conduct electricity.

in solid ionic compounds, there are no free electrons so it can't conduct electricity.

But in aqueous form the forces of attraction are broken and the ions (cations and anions) are free to move. This means there are free electrons that allow the aqueous compound to conduct electricity.

How do electrons differ from protons and neutrons? A. They do not move. B. They are larger. C. They are not in a fixed position.
nikdorinn [45]
Hi!

Electrons are particles which basically 'orbit' around the nucleus. Protons and neutrons are condensed, in a fixed position inside the nucleus.

With this in mind, the answer will be C.

Hopefully, this helps! =)

An amino acid is usually more soluble in aqueous solvent at pH extremes than it is at a pH near the isolelectric point of the am
gogolik [260]

Answer:

Option B. At pH extremes, the amino acid molecules mostly carry a net charge, thus increasing their solubility in polar solvent.

C. At very low or very high pH, the amino acid molecules have increased charge, thus form more salt bonds with water solvent molecules.
