We first add the fraction part, 4/8 + 4/8 + 3/8, which would give us 11/8, which can be turned into 1 3/8. Finally, we just have to add the whole numbers and 1 3/8, 2 + 1 + 12 + 1 3/8, to get 16 3/8.
