1. The velocity of the spacecraft at position 2 is greater than the velocity of the craft at position 4.

This is due the gravity field of the Earth is used to accelerate the craft. This is true when in a specific point the direction of the movement of the craft is the same direction of the movement of the planet.

In this case the craft will be “catched” by the Earth’s gravitational field, making the craft  to enter a circular orbit.

2. At point 1, the direction of the spacecraft changes because of the gravitational force between earth and the spacecraft.

As explained in the first answer, this is the exact point where the trajectory of the spacecraft enters into a circular orbit because of the attraction due gravity of the Earth and therefore changes its direction.

3. Position 3 represents the orbital path of Earth

Being this the orbital path of the Earth and considering the trajectory of the craft, the condition of accelerating the craft is accomplished. If the orbital path of the Earth were the opposite, the effect on the craft would be braking.

Note all of these is related to the gravitational assistance, this consists in a maneuver in which the energy of the gravitational field of a planet or satellite is used to obtain an acceleration or braking of the probe or craft, changing its trajectory.

A constant current of I = 15 A exists in a solenoid whose inductance is L = 2.8 H. The current is then reduced to zero in a cert
julia-pushkina [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given that

Constant current I=15A

Inductance L=2.8H

a. Current changes from 15A to 0A.

∆I=0-15=-15

For a time of t=75ms=0.075s

EMF=?

EMF is given at

EMF=-L(∆I/t)

EMF=-2.8×-15/0.075

EMF=3.15V

b. Energy stored?

Energy stored is given as

E=½LI²

E=½×2.8×15²

E=315 J

c. Rate of energy? Which is power and the rate of energy is given as

Power=Energy/timetaken

Power=315/0.075

Power=4200W

P=4.2KW

Calculate the kinetic energy, in joules of a 1160-kg automobile moving at 19.0 m/s.
Rudiy27

Answer:

Explanation:

K.E=1/2 mv²

m=1160 kg

v=19.0 m/s

so k.e=1/2*1160*(19.0)²

K.E=1/2*1160*361

K.E=1/2*418760

K.E=209380=2.0*10^5 j

A baby carriage is sitting at the top of a hill that is 21 m high. The carriage with the baby has a mass of 4kg. The carriage ha
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer:

E=252J

Explanation:

The total mechanical energy of an object or system is given by:

E mech=K+U

Where K is the kinetic energy of the object and U is the potential energy of the object. The carriage, sitting motionless at the top of the hill, has only potential energy in the form of gravitational potential energy.

Gravitational potential energy is given by:

Ug=mgh

Where m is the mass of the object, g is the gravitational acceleration constant, and h is the height of the object above some specific reference point, in this case the ground 21 m below.

The weight of a stationary object at the surface of the earth is equal to the force of gravity acting on the object.

W=→Fg=mg

We are given that the carriage weighs 12 N, therefore mg=12N.

Ug=12N⋅21m

⇒Ug=252Nm=252J

Hope it helped, God bless you!
