Given,

The momentum of the object A before the collision, p₁ =80 Ns

The momentum of the object B before the collision, p₂=-30 Ns

Given that the objects stick together after the collision.

From the law of conservation of momentum, the total momentum of a system should always remain the same. Thus the total momentum of the objects before the collision must be equal to the total momentum of the objects after the collision.

Thus,

p_1+p_2=p

Where p is the total momentum of the system at any instant of time.

On substituting the known values,

\begin{gathered} p=80-30 \\ =50\text{ Ns} \end{gathered}

Therefore the total momentum of the system is 50 Ns

Thus the momentum of the object AB after the collision is 50 Ns

Three students are having a conversation. It goes like this. Allison says: "This problem says, can you add a resistor to the cir
notsponge [240]

Answer:

Nima and Natasha are absolutely correct.

Explanation:

When connecting two resistors in series, their resistances add:

R_{eq}=R_{1}+R_{2}

which means that whenever we add a resistance in series, their magnitudes will add, giving us a resistance that is greater than the original resistance, which will demand less current from the battery because of ohm's law:

I=\frac{V}{R}

So, the greater the resistance, the smaller the current.

When connecting two resistors in parallel, the reciprocal of ther resistances add:

\frac{1}{R_{eq}}=\frac{1}{R_{1}}+\frac{1}{R_{2}}

or

R_{eq}=\frac{R_{1}R_{2}}{R_{1}+R_{2}}

The equivalent resistance will always be less than the smallest resistor in the circuit, so the equivalent resistance will always decrease as more resistors are added. A decrease in the resistance means that the current will increase.

A horizontal insulating rod of length 11.8-cm and charge 19 nC is in a plane with a long straight vertical uniform line charge.
SCORPION-xisa [38]

Answer:

11.962337 × 10^-4 N

Explanation:

Given the following :

Length L = 11.8

Charge = 29nC = 29 × 10^-9 C

Linear charge density λ = 1.4 × 10^-7 C/m

Radius (r) = 2cm = 2/100 = 0.02 m

Using the relation:

E = 2kλ/r ; F =qE

F = 2kλq/L × ∫dr/r

F = 2*k*q*λ/L × (In(0.02 + L) - In(0.02))

2*k*q*λ/L = [2 × (9 * 10^9) * (29 * 10^9) * (1.4 * 10^-7)]/ 0.118] = 6193.2203 × 10^(9 - 9 - 7) = 6193.2203 × 10^-7 = 6.1932203 × 10^-4

In(0.02 + 0.118) - In(0.02) = In(0.138) - In(0.02) = 1.9315214

Hence,

(6.1932203 × 10^-4) × 1.9315214 = 11.962337 × 10^-4 N
