When the heat is on the right side of the equation, the reaction is exothermic because heat is being released as a product.

if the heat is in the left, it would be endothermic.

If 2.00 moles of H₂ and 1.55 moles of O₂ react how many moles of H₂O can be produced in the reaction below?
jekas [21]

Answer:

2 mol H₂O

Explanation:

With the reaction,

 • 2H₂(g) + O₂(g) → 2 H₂O(g)

1.55 moles of O₂ would react completely with ( 2*1.55 ) 3.1 moles of H₂. There are not as many moles of H₂, thus H₂ is the limiting reactant.

Now we calculate the moles of H₂O produced, starting from the moles of limiting reactant:

 • 2.00 mol H₂ * \frac{2molH_2O}{2mol H_2} = 2 mol H₂O

The molar mass of NH3 is 17.03 g/mol. The molar mass of H2 is 2.0158 g/mol. In a particular reaction, 0.575 g of NH3 forms. What
Arlecino [84]

The balanced chemical reaction is:

N2 + 3H2 = 2NH3

We are given the amount of ammonia formed from the reaction. This is where we start our calculations.

0.575 g NH3 (1 mol NH3 / 17.03 g NH3) (3 mol H2 / 2 mol NH3) ( 2.02 g H2 / 1 mol H2) = 0.10 g H2
