Answer:

=  66.33 kCal

Explanation:

The combustion of methane is given by the equation;

CH4(g) + 2O2(g) → CO2(g) + 2H2O(l); ΔH = -890.3 kJ/mol

The molar enthalpy of combustion of methane is -890.3 kJ/mol

This means 1 mole of CH4 yields 890.3 kJ/Mol

But, molar mass of methane is 16.04 g/mol

Therefore;

Heat produced by 5.0 g of methane will be;

= (5.0 g/ 16.04 g/mol)× 890.3 kJ/mol

= 277.525 kJ/mol

But; 1 kcal = 4.184 kJ

thus; = 277.525 /4.184

         <u>=  66.33 kCal</u>

Feliz [49]

Answer:

The net ionic equation for the given reaction :

3Mn^{2+}(aq)+2PO_4^{3-}(aq)\rightarrow Mn_3(PO_4)_2(s)

Explanation:

3MnI_2(aq)+2Na_3PO_4_2(aq)\rightarrow Mn_3(PO_4)_2(s)+6NaI(aq)...[1]

MnI_2(aq)\rightarrow Mn^{2+}(aq)+2I^-(aq)..[2]

Na_3PO_4(aq)\rightarrow 3Na^{+}(aq)+PO_4^{3-}(aq)...[3]

NaI(aq)\rightarrow Na^+(aq)+I^-(aq)

Replacing MnI_2(aq) , NaI and Na_3PO_4(aq) in [1] by usig [2] [3] and [4]

3Mn^{2+}(aq)+6I^-(aq)+6Na^{+}(aq)+2PO_4^{3-}(aq)\rightarrow Mn_3(PO_4)_2(s)+6Na^+(aq)+6I^-(aq)

Removing the common ions present ion both the sides, we get the net ionic equation for the given reaction [1]:

3Mn^{2+}(aq)+2PO_4^{3-}(aq)\rightarrow Mn_3(PO_4)_2(s)

Which of the following is an example of a chemical change?
elena-s [515]
The best answer is the first option. A bike rusting is an example of a chemical change since rusting is a chemical reaction. New substances are formed from this reaction. On the other hand, other choices given are just physical changes because only the shape or the physical form of the substances are being changed.
