Galileo determined the relationship between the length of a pendulum and its period. How would you design and execute an experim

Answer:

If we wanna measure a pendulum's period, we can use a chronometer watch. But, if we try to measure just one period, we will find too many source of errors, between the reaction time of the human body, and the precision of the watch, it will not be a very accurate measurement. We can reduce those errors, simply by measuring several periods at the same time, and then, dividing the time measured by the numbers of periods we measured.

To obtain betters results, we need to repeat this experiment several times.

Now, if we want to find a relationship between the length of a pendulum and its period, we need to repeat the first experiment for several lengths.

After we have done this, to depicts the results, we can graph the period of the pendulum vs the length, and try to see if there is a clear correlation. Then, we just need to use statistics to find the correlation.

Answer:

See below ~

Explanation:

An object will sink in water when its density is greater than that of water, which is 1 g/cm³.

Volume of the box is 1331 cm³. (11³)

Maximum mass of sand will be 1331 g. [because 1331/1331 = 1 g/cm³]

  • Volume of sand = Mass of sand / Density of sand
  • Volume (sand) = 1331/3.5
  • Volume (sand) = 380.29 cm³

If the volume of sand is greater than 380.29 cm³, the box will sink in water.

What is latent heat energy's definiton
tamaranim1 [39]
The heat energy which has to be supplied to change the state of a substance is called its latent heat. Latent heat does not increase the kinetic energy of the particles of the substance, so the temperature of a substance does not rise during the change of state. :))

2. A woman prevents a 3kg brick from falling by pressing it against a vertical wall. The coefficient of friction
Anettt [7]

Answer:

49 N

Explanation:

We are given;

  • Mass of the brick as 3 kg
  • The coefficient of friction as 0.6

We are required to determine the force that must be applied by the woman so the brick does not fall.

  • We need to importantly note that;
  • For the brick not to fall the, the force due to gravity is equal to the friction force acting on the brick.
  • That is; Friction force = Mg

But; Friction force = μ F

Therefore;

μ F = mg

0.6 F = 3 × 9.8

0.6 F = 29.4

      F = 49 N

Therefore, she must use a force of 49 N
