Low head dams are dangerous to small boats and paddle craft because the strong circular current below the dam can capture the small ships and rowing boats and it can pull them under the dam.

Further explanation

BA17 (British Airways) is the live flight status, scheduled flights, flight arrival and departure times, flight tracks and playback, flight route and airport.

A low head dam or called a weir is a small structure that impounds a small amount of water and it spans the width of river or stream. It is usually made from concrete. The purpose of a low head dams is to raise the water level upstream on a river.

A boat is a watercraft of a large range of type and size. The ships are generally distinguished from boats based on their larger size, shape, and cargo or passenger capacity, and their ability to carry boats. Small boats are typically found on inland waterways such as rivers and lakes, or in protected coastal areas. Paddle craft has become a rapidly growing and diversifying portion of the recreational watercraft community.

Low-head dams are dangerous for small boats and rowing boats because the strong circular current below the dam can capture the small ships and rowing boats and it can pull them under the dam.

Low-head dams are dangerous structures that basically extend from one side of a riverbank to the other. Low-head dams block the water way partially and the water moving over the dam produces a strong circular current at the lower part of the dam. Low-head dams are dangerous to small boats and paddle craft because the strong circular current below the dam can trap small boats and paddle craft and pull them under the dam.

Which lipoprotein carries cholesterol to the cells in your body, but can get stuck in arteries while traveling in the blood, dep
Viktor [21]

LDL (low-density lipoprotein) carry cholesterol from the liver to the tissues and can contribute to the formation of plaque that builds up in the arteries.

What are lipids?

Lipids are soluble in fat and to circulate in the blood, which is an aqueous medium, they form lipoprotein complexes called lipoproteins, these constitute a transport medium and circulating reservoir for lipids.

Characteristics of LDL (low-density lipoprotein)

 • Low-density lipoproteins, composed of 50% triglycerides, are the ones that transport the lipids synthesized in the liver to other parts of the body.

 • LDL, composed mainly of cholesterol, when in excess, also deposits it on the walls of the arteries, contributing to the formation of plaque.

Therefore, we can conclude that excess LDL (low-density lipoprotein) poses a health risk because it facilitates the accumulation of fat in the arteries.

State the major processes of the urinary system and describe the activity of each process.
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

The urinary system removes excess substances and waste products from the metabolism from the body through the urine, contributing to the maintenance of homeostasis, the chemical composition of the internal environment. Urine is produced in the kidneys, passes through the ureters to the bladder, where it is stored and is released into the exterior through the urethra.

The kidneys perform the main work of the urinary system comparing with the other parts of the system, acting primarily as passageways and storage areas. With the filtration of blood and the formation of urine, the kidneys contribute to homeostasis of body fluids in a number of ways, such as: Regulation of the ionic composition of blood; Maintenance of blood osmolarity; Regulation of blood volume; Blood pressure regulation; PH regulation of blood; Hormone release; Regulation of blood glucose level; Waste excretion and toxic substances.

Ureters - They are two tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder. The ureters are capable of performing rhythmic contractions called peristalsis. Urine moves along the ureters in response to gravity and peristalsis.

Bladder - The urinary bladder acts as a temporary reservoir for urine storage. It is a hollow, elastic muscular organ that in men is directly anterior to the rectum and in women, is located in front of the vagina and below the uterus.

Urethra - is a tube that conducts urine from the bladder to the outside, being lined with mucosa that contains a large amount of mucus-secreting glands. The urethra opens outwards through the outer ostium of the urethra.
