1. HCl (H:1, Cl 35.5) ---> 1+35.5 = 36.5
2. FeS (Fe:56, S:32) ---> 56+32 = 88
3. Cl2 (Cl:35.5) ---> 35.5 x 2 = 71
4. CaC03 (Ca:40, C: 12, O: 16) ---> 40 + 12 + 3(16) = 100
5. Fe0 (Fe: 56, O: 16) ---> 56+16=72

Name the following hydrocarbons
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

1) 3-methylpentane 2)Butyne

Explanation:

On the first molecule, we have a methyl group on the 3rd carbon, so you will have "3-methhyl". It's a 5 carbon molecule with no double bonds, so "-pentane" is required.

On the second molecule, we have a simple 4 carbon molecule with a triple bond which makes it an Alkyne. 4 carbons makes the prefix "but-" and a alkyne males the ending "-yne".

Which describes the boundary where earthquake activity occurs along rift valleys? divergent boundary in the ocean divergent boun
Mila [183]

Answer:

Divergent boundary on land

Explanation:

A rift valley is a lowland region that forms where Earth’s tectonic plates move apart (diverge), or rift. Rift valleys are found both on land and at the bottom of the ocean, where they are created by the process of seafloor spreading.

Rift valleys are created by tectonic activity and not the process of erosion.

Tectonic plates are huge, rocky slabs of Earth's lithosphere—its crust and upper mantle. Tectonic plates are constantly in motion—shifting against each other in fault zones, falling beneath one another in a process called subduction, crashing against one another at convergent plate boundaries, and tearing apart from each other at divergent plate boundaries.

The most well-known rift valley on Earth is probably the so-called "Great Rift Valley System" which stretches from the Middle East in the north to Mozambique in the south. The area is geologically active, and features volcanoes, hot springs, geysers, and frequent earthquakes.

2. What is the molarity of a CuBr2 solution that contains 446 g of solute in 5000 mL of solution?
klemol [59]

Answer:

0.4 M

Explanation:

M=moles/Liters

Convert grams to moles (446/223.37=1.99668711)

Convert 5000 mL to liters (5000/1000)

Plug in the values and solve

M=2/5

M=0.4

Which of the following phase changes only occurs in solids possessing vapor pressures above atmospheric pressure and at ambient
GuDViN [60]

Answer: The phase change process in which solids gets converted to gases is sublimation.

Explanation:

For the given options:

Option a: Condensation

It is a type of process in which phase change occurs from gaseous state to liquid state at constant temperature.

Gas\rightleftharpoons Liquid

Option b: Melting

It is a type of process in which phase change occurs from solid state to liquid state at constant temperature.

Solid\rightleftharpoons Liquid

Option c: Sublimation

It is a type of process in which phase change occurs from solid state to gaseous state without passing through the liquid state at constant temperature.

Solid\rightleftharpoons Gas

Option d: Deposition

It is a type of process in which phase change occurs from gaseous state to solid state without passing through the liquid state at constant temperature.

Gas\rightleftharpoons Solid

Hence, the phase change process in which solids gets converted to gases is sublimation.
