It seems reasonable to assume that the car is standing still while the sand is pouring in. Since its speed is zero, it has no momentum, and that won't change until it starts moving, no matter how much sand has been loaded onto it.

mote1985 [20]

Answer:

Electromagnetic cranes are used to separate copper from iron in a scrap yard. The current is switched on to energies the electromagnet and pick up the iron pieces from the scrap. Then these iron pieces are moved to another position, the electromagnet in switched off and the iron pieces are released.

20. GP A sinusoidal wave traveling in the negative x direction (to the left) has an amplitude of 20.0cm, a wavelength of 35.0cm,
umka21 [38]

The angular frequency of the wave is determined as 75.4 rad/s.

<h3>What is wave function?</h3>

A wave function is a mathematical equation for the motion of the wave.

y(x, t) = A sin(kx + ωt + Φ)

where;

  • ω is angular speed
  • k is angular wavenumber
  • Φ is phase angle

<h3>What is angular frequency?</h3>

The angular frequency is the angular displacement of any wave element per unit of time or the rate of change of the waveform phase.

<h3>Angular frequency</h3>

ω = 2πf

ω = 2π(12)

ω = 75.4 rad/s

Thus, the angular frequency of the wave is determined as 75.4 rad/s.

A motor has a rotor (with armature) of moment of inertia ????m . The rotor is attached to a gear box of gear ratio G &gt; 1. The
Inessa [10]

Answer:

hello your question is incomplete attached below is the complete question

answer : The moment of inertial felt by someone ( J ) is greater that the moment of inertia felt by the motor  i.e. J > Jm

Explanation:

Gear ratio G > 1

a) Determine the moment of inertia felt by the motor

moment of inertia felt by Motor = moment of Inertia at the armature

b) Determine the moment of inertial felt by someone who is rotating the mass by hand

moment of inertia felt by someone is = J

The moment of inertial felt by someone ( J ) is greater that the moment of inertia felt by the motor

attached below is a detailed solution

A steel bridge is 1000 m long at -20°C in winter. What is the change in length when the temperature rises to 40°C in summer? The
xenn [34]

Answer:

ΔL = 0.66 m

Explanation:

The change in length on an object due to rise in temperature is given by the following equation of linear thermal expansion:

ΔL = αLΔT

where,

ΔL = Change in Length of the bridge = ?

α = Coefficient of linear thermal expansion = 11 x 10⁻⁶ °C⁻¹

L = Original Length of the Bridge = 1000 m

ΔT = Change in Temperature =  Final Temperature - Initial Temperature

ΔT = 40°C - (-20°C) = 60°C

Therefore,

ΔL = (11 x 10⁻⁶ °C⁻¹)(1000 m)(60°C)

<u>ΔL = 0.66 m</u>
