The vapor pressure of dichloromethane, CH2Cl2, at 0 ∘C is 134 mmHg. The normal boiling point of dichloromethane is 40. ∘C. How w
Elden [556K]

Answer:

The molar heat of vaporization of dichloromethane is 30.8kJ/mole

Explanation:

Using Clausius Clapeyron equation

ln (P1/P2) = (ΔHvap/R) (1/T2-1/T1)

At initial temperature of Ooc , the vapour pressure is 134mmHg

Therefore T1 = 0+273 =273K

And P1 = 134mmHg

At normal boiling point of 40oC , the vapour pressure is 760mmhg

T2 = 40 +273 = 313K

P2 = 760mmHg

ln (134/760) = ΔHvap/(8.3145 J/molK)

( 1/313K - 1/273K)

ΔHvap = 30800J/mol

= 30.8kJ/mol

Therefore, the molar heat of vaporization can be calculated using

Clausius Clapeyron equation using the above steps

Aneli [31]

Answer:

1. Density of the rectangular prism is 20 g/cm3

2. A material's ability to dissolve : Soubility

3. Intensive property : A physical property that is independent of sample size.

Explanation:

Volume of Prism is calculated by :

volume = L\times W\times H

Length = 3 cm

Width = 2 cm

Height = 1 cm

volume = 3\times 2\times 1

V = 6 cm3

mass = 120 g

Density = \frac{mass}{Volume}

Density = \frac{120}{6}

Density = 20 g/cm3

2.

Solubility :

 • It is the chemical property of the substance.
 • It shows the ability of the solute to dissolve in the solvent at a given temperature.

3.

Intensive Properties:

 • These are bulk properties(Do not depend upon the amount of matter present)
 • They are independent of sample size.
 • Example : boiling point,melting point,temperature,refractive index

Explain why photosynthesis and respiration are considered opposite processes when it comes to carbon.
lyudmila [28]
Respiration and Photosynthesis is different form each other because photosynthesis removes CO2 while respiration puts back CO2
