Why should antibiotics be given to a person who is ill with a bacterial disease like strep throat, but NOT to a person who has a

viral disease like measles?
Antibiotics kill bacteria but not viruses.

Antibiotics make viruses grow faster.

Antibiotics are made by viruses.

Viruses are not living things.

Antibiotics only kill bacteria, not viruses. Therefore, the answer is A.

When you get the common cold, you can't take antibiotics to be cured. The common cold is a virus.

The formula v=fλ describes how sound can change. Please explain what these components are, and how they affect one another.
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

Explanation:

Electromagnetic waves is a propagating medium used in all communications device to transmit data (messages) from the device of the sender to the device of the receiver.

An electromagnetic spectrum refers to a range of frequency and wavelength that an electromagnetic wave is distributed or extends. The electromagnetic spectrum comprises of gamma rays, visible light, ultraviolet radiation, x-rays, radio waves, and infrared radiation.

Wavelength can be defined as the distance from one peak to the next peak. Also, this distance is equal to the distance from one trough of a wave to another.

Mathematically, the speed of a wave is given by the formula;

V = fλ

Where;

V is the speed of the wave.

f is the frequency of the wave.

λ is the wavelength of the wave.

The speed of a wave (wave speed) is directly proportional to the frequency of a wave.

This ultimately implies that, an increase in the speed of a wave would cause an increase in the frequency of a wave and vice-versa.

During an experiment, a toy car accelerates forward for a total time of 5 s. Which of the following procedures could a student u
levacccp [35]

Answer: B

Explanation: The motion sensor will measure the speed (velocity) of the car. Since the mass of the car has been measured, we can use formulas to calculate the average force.

Average net force = mass × acceleration

The mass of the toy car is measured first and noted

To calculate the velocity,

the car starts from rest since the velocity is associated with the distance and time after 5s.

Acceleration = velocity/time

With that the acceleration can be found.

acceleration is defined as change in velocity per unit time.

Then,

Force = mass × acceleration

Option B is the best answer

What is the difference between polarized light and unpolarized light?
vekshin1
Unpolarized light has light waves that are oriented in all directions while polarized light has all the light waves oscillating in one direction. An example for unpolarized is the Sun, or any other simple type of light.

What is the algebraic expression for the component of the normal force in the vertical direction?
inna [77]

The algebraic expression for the component of the normal force in the vertical direction is Force= product of mass and area.

What is Force?

A force is an effect that can alter an object's motion according to physics. An object with mass can change its velocity, or accelerate, as a result of a force. An obvious way to describe force is as a push or a pull. A force is a vector quantity since it has both magnitude and direction. Or, there is a specific meaning to the word "force." At this level, calling a force a push or a pull is entirely appropriate. A force is not something an object "has in it" or that it "contains." One thing experiences a force from another. There are both living things and non-living objects in the concept of a force.

A planet has a period of revolution about the sun equal to T and a mean distance from the sun equal to R. T2 varies directly as
Tamiku [17]

Answer:

T² ∝ R³

Explanation:

Given data,

The period of revolution of the planet around the sun, T

The mean distance of the planet from the sun, R

According to the III law of Kepler, " Law of Periods' states that the square of the orbital period to go around the sun once is directly proportional to the cube of the mean distance between the sun and the planet.

                              T² ∝ R³

                               \frac{T^{2}}{R^{3}} = Constant

From the above equation it is clear that T² varies directly as the R³.
