Solution:

First we will find mass per unit length of the rubber tube μ.

μ = 13.6/0.750

  = 18.133 kg/m

tension in tube T = mg = 740×9.8

                                   = 7252 N

now we have the values of T and μ we can find the speed v.

v = √T/μ

v = \sqrt{\frac{7252}{ 18.133} }

v = 19.998 m/s

t = \frac{l}{v} = 13.6/19.998

t = 0.68 s
