They are called the noble gasesbecause they are very unreactive. The highest occupied energy levels (outermost shells) of their atoms are full: helium atoms have two electrons in their outer energy level. atoms of the other noble gases have eight electrons in their outer energy level.

Answer:

(A & B) ; (F , H & D)

Explanation:

Each row in a periodic table represents elements with same energy levels. Here A & B both are in a same row. Similarly , F , H & D are also in same row. This signifies that they have same energy levels.

The electrostatic attraction between positively charged nuclei and negatively charged electrons permits two atoms to be held tog
Serggg [28]

Answer:

The correct answer is a. chemical bond. See the explanation below, please.

Explanation:

The resulting electrostatic interaction is called ionic bond between ions of opposite charge (one negative and one positive). This allows the attraction between both charges, constituting a chemical compound. Eg the Sodium (Na +) ion combines with the Chlorine (Cl-) ion forming Nacl (sodium chloride, known as table salt).

Determine the molecular formula for the compound with a molar mass of 46.08 g/mol and the following percent compostion:
kramer

Answer:

      \large\boxed{\large\boxed{CH_6N_2}}

Explanation:

1. First determine the empirical formula.

a) Base: 100 g of compound

             mass atomic mass number of moles

                g                g/mol                    mol

C           26.06            12.011             26.06/12.011   = 2.17

H           13.13              1.008              13.13/1.008    =  13.03

N           60.81             14.007            60.81/14.007 = 4.34

b) Divide every number of moles by the smallest number: 2.17

mass       number of moles        proportion

C                  2.17/2.17                         1

H               13.03/2.17                         6

N                4.34/2.17                          2

c) Empirical formula

      CH_6N_2

d) Mass of the empirical formula

      1\times 12.011g/mol6+6\times 1.008g/mol+2\times 14.007g/mol=46.07g/mol

2. Molecular formula

Since the mass of one unit of the empirical formula is equal to the molar mass of the compound, the molecular formula is the same as the empirical formula:

                   CH_6N_2

How many grams of KBr are present in 250.0mL of a 1.20M solution
castortr0y [4]
Molar mass KBr = 119 g/mol

Volume in liters: 250.0mL / 1000 => 0.25 L

n = M x V

n = 1.20 x 0,25 => 0.3 moles of KBr

Therefore:

1 mole KBr ----------- 119 g
0.3 moles KBr -------- ??

0.3 x 119 / 1 => 35.7 g of KBr
