When the top of the Earth is tilted towards the sun, it is summer in the northern hemisphere. Since the bottom half of the Earth (the southern hemisphere) is tilted away from the sun, it's winter there. On around June 21st<span>, the northern hemisphere is at its max tilt towards the sun. This is called the summer solstice.</span>

Consider the insoluble compound nickel(II) hydroxide , Ni(OH)2 . The nickel ion also forms a complex with cyanide ions . Write a
natali 33 [55]

Answer: Equilibrium constant for this reaction is 2.8 \times 10^{15}.

Explanation:

Chemical reaction equation for the formation of nickel cyanide complex is as follows.

Ni(OH)_{2}(s) + 4CN^{-}(aq) \rightleftharpoons [Ni(CN)_{4}^{2-}](aq) + 2OH^{-}(aq)

We know that,

      K = K_{f} \times K_{sp}

We are given that, K_{f} = 1.0 \times 10^{31}

and,    K_{sp} = 2.8 \times 10^{-16}

Hence, we will calculate the value of K as follows.

     K = K_{f} \times K_{sp}

     K = (1.0 \times 10^{31}) \times (2.8 \times 10^{-16})

        = 2.8 \times 10^{15}

Thus, we can conclude that equilibrium constant for this reaction is 2.8 \times 10^{15}.

State which of the following set of quantum number would be possible and which would be permissible for an electron in an atom.
raketka [301]

Answer:

The correct option is: e) n=4, l=3, m_{l} = - 2 , m_{s} = - 1/2

Explanation:

The four quantum numbers that describe the electrons in an atom are: The principal: n, azimuthal: l, magnetic: m, and  spin: s.

For a given electron, the values of the quantum numbers should be in the <u>given range</u>- principal quantum number: n ≥ 1;

azimuthal quantum number: 0 ≤ l ≤ n − 1;

magnetic quantum number: −l ≤ m_{l} ≤ +l;

spin quantum number: −s ≤ m_{s} ≤ +s

Now, for n= 4,

The value of l: 0 to n − 1 =  0 to 3 = 0, 1, 2, 3

The value of m_{l} for l= 3 : -3 to +3 = -3, -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, +3

The value of m_{s}: -1/2, +1/2

<u>Therefore, the given set of quantum numbers</u>: n=4, l=3, m_{l} = - 2 , m_{s} = - 1/2;  <u>are possible and permissible for an electron in an atom.</u>

This reaction was at equilibrium when 0.2 atm of iodine gas was pumped into the container, what happened to the equilibrium and
n200080 [17]

Answer:

Q was < K. Partial pressure of hydrogen decreased, iodine increased

Explanation:

<em>After iodine was added the Q was [Select] K so the reaction shifted toward the Products [Select] ,The partial pressure of hydrogen [Select], Iodine [Select] |,and hydrogen iodide Decreased</em>

Based on the equilibrium:

H2(g) + I2(g) ⇄ 2HI(g)

K of equilibrium is:

K = [HI]² / [H2] [I2]

<em>Where [] are concentrations at equilibrium</em>

And Q is:

Q = [HI]² / [H2] [I2]

<em>Where [] are actual concentrations of the reactants.</em>

<em />

When the reaction is in equilibrium, K=Q.

But as [I2] is increased, Q decreases and Q was < K

The only concentration that increases is [I2], doing partial pressure of hydrogen decreased, iodine increased
