What is the<br> total charge of 1 proton, 1 electron, and 1 neutron?
iragen [17]

Given parameters:

Number of protons  = 1

Number of electrons = 1

Number of neutrons  = 1

unknown:

Total charge = ?

Atoms are made up of elementary particles of protons neutrons and electrons.

Protons are the positively charged particles in an atom

Electrons are the negatively charged particles

Neutrons do not carry any charges

To find the total charge on an atom; simply find the difference between the number of protons and electrons.

Total charge  = Number of protons - number of electrons

                               = 1 - 1

       Total charge is 0

Therefore, the total charge is zero, 0

How can scientists determine what kind of atoms are in stars and nebulas?
statuscvo [17]
Each element absorbs light at specific wavelengths unique to that atom. When astronomers look at an object's spectrum, they can determine its composition based on these wavelengths.
Not sure if this is 100% but I hope it helps.

The Answer you're looking for here is Star A mainly because it's the star with the highest Surface Temperature on the Graph.

Acetic acid and water react to from hydronium cation and acetate anion, like this: HCH3CO2 (aq) + H2O (I) → H3O+(aq) + Ch3CO2-(a
Roman55 [17]

Answer:

1) Greater than zero, and equal to the rate of the reverse reaction

2) Greater than zero, but less than the rate of the reverse reaction

3) Greater than zero, and equal to the rate of the reverse reaction

Explanation:

A reaction system is said to be in equilibrium when the rate of forward reaction is equal to the rate of reverse reaction.

Before we remove HCH3CO2 from the system, the system was in equilibrium. Recall that when a system is in equilibrium, the rate of forward reaction is equal to the rate of reverse reaction. The rate of reaction is greater than zero because products are being formed as the reactants interact with each other.

When HCH3CO2 is removed from the system, the equilibrium position shifts towards the left hand side hence the rate of reverse reaction is greater than the rate of forward reaction.

When the system attains equilibrium again, the rates of forward and reverse reaction become equal.

What are the respective concentrations (m) of fe3+ and i- afforded by dissolving 0.200 mol fei3 in water and diluting to 725 ml?
Natalka [10]

Molarity = moles / liter of solution

Given, Moles of Fe³⁺ = 0.200

Volume of solution = 725 ml = 0.725 L

Conversion factor: 1000 ml = 1L

Molarity = 0.200 / 0.725 L = 0.275 M

The dissociation of Fel₃ in water is ad follows:

Fel₃ → Fe³⁺ + 3l⁻

1 mole of Fel₃ gives 1 mole of Fe³⁺ ions  and 3 moles of l⁻

Since the solution is 0.275 M of Fel₃, so there are 0.275 M of Fe³⁺ ions,

and (3 x 0.275 M) = 0.825 M of l⁻ ions.
