Answer &Explanation:

From Avogadro's lawa equal volume of gas contain equal number of moles

V=N

Hence

13L=965

XL=3.2mol

Hint:as the question state is increase to iteans final mol was 3.2 but if it could state by it would mean initial moles plus adde moles ie 3.2mol)

Cross multiplication

The new volume will be

=(3.2mol×13L÷965mol)

=0.043L

For each of the esters provided, identify the alcohol and the carboxylic acid that reacted.
Veronika [31]

Answer:

52. The alcohol USED => methanol, CH3OH

The carboxylic acid USED => propanoic acid, CH3CH2COOH.

53. The alcohol USED => Ethanol, CH2CH3OH

The carboxylic acid USED => Formic acid, HCOOH.

Explanation:

52. To obtain Methyl propanoate, CH3CH2COOCH3, we simply react propanoic, CH3CH2COOH and methanol, CH3OH together as shown below:

CH3CH2COOH + CH3OH —> CH3CH2COOCH3 + H2O

The alcohol used: methanol, CH3OH

The carboxylic acid used: propanoic acid, CH3CH2COOH.

53. To obtain Ethyl methanoate, HCOOCH2CH3, we simply react

Formic acid, HCOOH and ethanol, CH3CH2OH together as show below:

HCOOH + CH3CH2OH —> HCOOCH2CH3 + H2O

The alcohol USED => Ethanol, CH2CH3OH

The carboxylic acid USED => Formic acid, HCOOH.

A mixture of H2 and water vapor is present in a closed vessel at 20. 00°C. The total pressure of the system is 755. 0 mmHg. The
MAVERICK [17]

The partial stress of H2 is 737.47 mmHg Let's observe the Ideal Gas Law to find out the whole mols.

We count on that the closed vessel has 1L of volume

 • P.V=n.R.T
 • We must convert mmHg to atm. 760 mmHg.
 • 1 atm
 • 755 mmHg (755/760) = 0.993 atm
 • 0.993 m.1L=n.0.082 L.atm/mol.K .
 • 293 K(0.993 atm 1.1L)/(0.082mol.K /L.atm).
 • 293K = n
 • 0.0413mols = n

These are the whole moles. Now we are able to know the moles of water vapor, to discover the molar fraction of it.

 1. P.V=n.R.T
 2. 760 mmHg. 1 atm
 3. 17.5 mmHg (17.5 mmHg / 760 mmHg)=0.0230 atm
 4. 0.0230 m.1L=n.0.082 L.atm/mol.K.293 K(0.0230atm.1L)/(0.082mol.K/L.atm .293K)=n 9.58 × 10 ^ 4 mols = n.
 5. Molar fraction = mols )f gas/general mols.
 6. Molar fraction water vapor =9.58×10^ -four mols / 0.0413 mols
 7. Sum of molar fraction =1
 8. 1 - 9.58 × 10 ^ 4 × mols / 0.0413 ×mols = molar fraction H2
 9. 0.9767 = molar fraction H2
 10. H2 pressure / Total pressure =molar fraction H2
 11. H2 pressure / 55mmHg = =0.9767 0.9767 = h2 pressure =755 mmHg.
 12. 737,47 mmHg.

What is a mole fraction?

Mole fraction is a unit of concentration, described to be identical to the variety of moles of an issue divided through the whole variety of moles of a solution. Because it's miles a ratio, mole fraction is a unitless expression.

Thus it is clear that the partial pressure of H2 is 737,47 mmHg.

Sulfur dioxide, SO 2 ( g ) , can react with oxygen to produce sulfur trioxide, SO 3 ( g ) , by the reaction 2 SO 2 ( g ) + O 2 (
Alex

Answer:

ΔHorxn = - 11.79 KJ

Explanation:

2 SO 2 ( g ) + O 2 ( g ) ⟶ 2 SO 3 ( g )

The standard enthalpies of formation for SO 2 ( g ) and SO 3 ( g ) are Δ H ∘ f [ SO 2 ( g ) ] = − 296.8 kJ / mol Δ H ∘ f [ SO 3 ( g ) ] = − 395.7 kJ / mol

From the reaction above, 2 mol of SO2 reacts to produce 2 mol of SO3. Assuming ideal gas behaviour,

1 mol = 22.4l

x mol = 2.67l

Upon cross multiplication and solving for x;

x = 2.67 / 22.4 = 0.1192 mol

0.1192 mol of SO2 would react to produce 0.1192 mol of SO3.

Amount of heat is given as;

ΔHorxn = ∑mΔHof(products) − ∑nΔHof(reactants)

Because O2(g) is a pure element in its standard state, ΔHοf [O2(g)] = 0 kJ/mol.

ΔHorxn = 0.1192 mol * (− 395.7 kJ / mol) - 0.1192 mol * ( − 296.8 kJ / mol)

ΔHorxn = - 47.17kj + 35.38kj

ΔHorxn = - 11.79 KJ
