The heat capacity of iron is 0.45J/g°C.
We calculate the heat using the equation:
ΔH = m cp ΔT
where
m is the mass
ΔH is enthalphy or the heat required
cp is the heat capacity
ΔT is the change in temperature
So,
ΔH = m cp ΔT = (125g) (0.45 J/g°C) (75°C - 23.5°C)
ΔH = 2896.875 J

Dividing by 1000 to convert to kJ,
ΔH = 2.897 kJ

Krypton-79 has a half-life of 35 hours. how many half-lives have passed after 105 hours?
Nookie1986 [14]
The number of half -lives that has passed after 105 hours for krypton-79 that has half-life of 35 hours is calculated as below

if 1 half life = 35 hours

what about 105 hours = ? half-lives

= (1 half life x105 hours) /35 hours = 3 half-lives has passed after 105 hours

Explain the process of radioactive decay. What happens during the radioactive decay? What is the result at the end of radioactiv
nignag [31]

1) Radioactive decay is the spontaneous decomposition of the unstable nucleus of an atom.

2) The emission of a particle or a photon.

For example, alpha decay is radioactive decay in which an atomic nucleus emits an alpha particle (helium nucleus).

3) The result is usually more stable element with smaller atomic number.

For example, in alpha decay atom transforms into an atom with an atomic number that is reduced by two and mass number that is reduced by four.

For example nuclear fission is radioactive decay process in which the nucleus of an atom splits into smaller parts and huge amount of energy is released.

Orbitals which valence electrons are found for calcium
galina1969 [7]
The 4th energy level (row), 's' orbital block, 2nd group (column). The valence electrons are found in the highest energy level of the electron configuration in the 's' and 'p' orbitals. In the case of calcium this is 4s2 . This gives calcium an 's' orbital with a pair of electrons in its valence shell
