A 1,600 kg car is traveling with a speed of 20 m/s. Find the net force that is required to bring the car to a halt in a distance

of 50m. Use the formula: a= (vf2-vi2)/2d regarding the relation among acceleration a, final velocity vf, initial velocity vi, and the traveled distance of an object d.

Net force that is required to bring the car to a halt =6400 N

Explanation:

Using kinematic equation to calculate the acceleration a

Vf²= Vi²+ 2 a d

Vf= final velocity=0

Vi= initial velocity= 20 m/s

a= acceleration

d= distance=50 m

0²= (20)²+ 2 a (50)

a=-4 m/s²

Now force= F = ma

m= mass= 1600 kg

F= 1600 (-4)

F=-6400 N

negative sign indicates that the force is opposing the motion of the car.

What are three foods that would be considered good energy sources?
jok3333 [9.3K]
Almonds, like many nuts, are one of the best plant sources of protein. Protein will help regulate your blood sugar and keep your energy level stable throughout the day. Oats contain the energizing and stress-lowering B vitamin family, which helps transform carbs into usable energy. Water, without water, your body cannot generate energy.

Lorico [155]
  • initial velocity=15m/s=u
  • Acceleration=a=5m/s^2
  • Final velocity=v=30m/s
  • Distance be s

Using 3rd equation of kinematics

\\ \rm\longmapsto v^2-u^2=2as

\\ \rm\longmapsto s=\dfrac{v^2-u^2}{2a}

\\ \rm\longmapsto s=\dfrac{30^2-15^2}{2(5)}

\\ \rm\longmapsto s=\dfrac{900-225}{10}

\\ \rm\longmapsto s=\dfrac{675}{10}

\\ \rm\longmapsto s=67.5m
