EJ is taking his little sister, Ebony, on her first carousel ride. His mass is 75.0 kg, and her mass is 10.0 kg. They ride the s

ame horse, and it is 11.0 meters from the center of the carousel. If their angular momentum is 14020 kg m2/s, what is their speed?

You have to find interia using I=mr^2.

m=75+10

radius = 11

Then you have to substitute in first formula above to find the angular speed.

14020=(75+10)x v x 11

v= 14020/ (85x11) = 15m/s

To find linear speed, use V=wr.

Equation: V = 11*1.363 = 15m/s = 33.6mi/hr

Hope this helps! :)

What causes a submarine to rise and descend?
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

When the ballast tanks are filled with air, the submarine rises to the surface because it has positive buoyancy. With water inside the tanks, the sub has negative buoyancy so it sinks deeper into the ocean. The ballast tanks can also be used to help a submarine surface very quickly in an emergency

High-speed motion of gas and stars near the milky way galaxy's center is explained by

The supermassive black hole "Sagittarius A*" at the center, which exerts an enormous gravitational force on the surrounding material. This accelerates the material to relativistic speeds (0.2c) as per regular newtonian mechanics combined with the laws of special relativity.

PNEWTON
What is the ist law of motion?
Degger [83]

Answer:

Newton's First Law states that an object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force. It may be seen as a statement about inertia, that objects will remain in their state of motion unless a force acts to change the motion.

A cyclist maintains a constant velocity of 4.1 m/s headed away from point A. At some initial time, the cyclist is 244 m from poi
astra-53 [7]

Answer:

d=490\ m is his final displacement from the point A after 60 seconds.

Explanation:

Given:

Cyclist is moving away from A.

 • velocity of cyclist, v=4.1\ m.s^{-1}
 • displacement of the cyclist from point A at the time of observation, d_i=244\ m
 • time after which the next observation is to be recorded, t=60\ s

Now as the cyclist is moving away from point A his change in displacement after the mentioned time:

\Delta d=v.t

\Delta d = 4.1 \times 60

\Delta d=246\ m

Now the the final displacement from point A after the mentioned time:

d=d_i+\Delta d

d=244+246

d=490\ m
