To solve this we use the equation,

M1V1 = M2V2

where M1 is the concentration of the stock solution, V1 is the volume of the stock solution, M2 is the concentration of the new solution and V2 is its volume.

2.5 M x V1 = 1.0 M x .250 L

V1 = 0.10 L or 100 mL of the 2.5 M HCl solution is needed

Hope this helps.

Answer: Add 150 ml of water to 100 ml of 2.5 M stock solution.

Explanation: According to the neutralization law,

M_1V_1=M_2V_2

where,

M_1 = molarity of stock solution = 2.5 M

V_1 = volume of stock solution = ?

M_2 = molarity of desired solution = 1.0 M

V_2 = volume of desired solution = 250 ml

Now put all the given values in the above law, we get the volume of stock solution.

(2.5M)\times V_1=(1.0M)\times (250ml)

V_1=100ml

Therefore, 100 ml of 2.5 M of stock solution is taken and 150 ml of water is added to make the volume to 250 ml.

If 56 J of heat is added to an aluminum can with a mass of 23.6 g , what is its temperature change? Specific heat capacity of al
elena-s [515]

Answer:

2.627775588 degrees Celsius (with 2 sig figs)

Explanation:

We need to use our equation q=m×s×(change in temp) and solve for our change in temperature. So divide both sides by m×s and you'll get:

Change in temp=q/(m×s) Where q= J of heat m=mass and s= specific heat

So now we just plug our numbers in:

56J/(23.6g×0.903J/g°C)= 2.627775588 and since 56 only has 2 sig figs, we round the final answer to 2.6°C

E°cell = E°cathode - E°anode

E°cathode= -0.14 V

E°anode= -0.40 V

E°cell = -0.14-(-0.40)

E°cell= -0.14+0.40

E°cell= 0.26 V

But

E°cell= 0.0592/n log K

E°cell= 0.0592/2 log K

0.26= 0.0296log K

log K = 0.26/0.0296

log K= 8.7838

K= Antilog (8.7838)

K= 6.1×10^8

Why do most atoms form chemical bonds?
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

Why do most atoms form chemical bonds? They want a full outer shell of electrons, so the lose, gain, or share electrons with other elements, forming compounds, until they have 8 valence electrons and become stable. Double and triple covalent bonds that have greater bond energy and are shorter than single bonds.
