The moles of O2 that are needed to react completely with 35.0 mol C2H2 is 87.5 moles of O2

Explanation

Write a balanced chemical equation for reaction of between C2H2 and O2

2 C2H2 + 5O2 →  4 CO2   + 2 H2O

if 35.0 moles C2H2 reacted then use the o mole ratio to determine the moles of C2H2

The mole ratio of C2H2 :O2 = 2:5 therefore the moles of O2

=  35 moles x5/2  =  87.5 moles of O2

A chemist wants to make 6.5 L of a 0.340 M CaCl2 solution. Part A What mass of CaCl2 (in g) should the chemist use? Express your
katovenus [111]

Answer:

The answer to your question is 245 grams

Explanation:

Data

Volume 6.5 L

Molarity = 0.34

mass of CaCl₂ = ?

Process

1.- Calculate the molar mass of CaCl₂

molar mass = (1 x 40) + (2 x 35.5)

                   = 40 + 71

                   = 111 g

2.- Convert the grams to moles

                       111 g of CaCl₂ -------------- 1 mol

                         x                   ---------------0.34 mol

                         x = (0.34 x 111) / 1

                         x = 37.74 g

3.- Calculate the total mass

                        37.74 g ------------------ 1 L

                            x        ------------------ 6.5 L

                            x = (6.5 x 37.74) / 1

                            x = 245.31

Alex777 [14]

45 m. If each student needs 750 mm of tubing, the teacher should order 45 m of tubing.

a) Find the length in millimetres

Length = 60 students x (750 mm tubing/1 student) = 45 000 mm tubing

b) Convert millimetres to metres

Length = 45 000 mm tubing x (1 m tubing/1000 mm tubing) = 45 m tubing
