Explanation:

The given data will be as follows.

         7 kg of dimethyl terephthalate + 5 kg of Ethylene glycol = 12 kg of product

Formula for weight average number is as follows.

                       w_{n} = \sum w_{i} \times M_{i}

                                  = \frac{7}{12} \times M_{DMT} + \frac{5}{12} \times M_{EG}

Molecular weight of DMT = 198.21 g/mol

Molecular weight of ET = 62.07 g/mol

Hence, calculate the weight average number as follows.

          \frac{7}{12} \times M_{DMT} + \frac{5}{12} \times M_{EG}

           = \frac{7}{12} \times 198.21 g/mol + \frac{5}{12} \times 62.07 g/mol

            = (115.62 + 25.862) g/mol

             = 141.482 g/mol

Since, efficiency is given as 50% = 0.5

                               0.5 = \frac{\bar{M_{avg. PET}}}{w_{n}}

                \bar{M_{avg. PET}} = 0.5 \times w_{n}

                                  = 0.5 \times 141.482 g/mol

                                  = 70.741 g/mol

As,          m_{PET} \times \bar{M_{avg. PET}} = m_{DMT} \times M_{DMT} + m_{EG} \times M_{EG}

        m_{PET} \times 70.741 g/mol = 7 \times 198.21 g/mol + 5 \times 62.07 g/mol

                      m_{PET} = \frac{1697.82}{70.741}

                                     = 24 g

Thus, we can conclude that the amount of given polymer is 24 g.

In a science lab, a student heats up a chemical from 10 °C to 25 °C which requires thermal energy of 30000 J. If mass of the obj
olganol [36]

Answer:

The specific heat capacity of the object is 50 J/g°C ( option 4 is correct)

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Initial temperature = 10.0 °C

Final temperature = 25.0 °C

Energy required = 30000 J

Mass of the object = 40.0 grams

Step 2: Calculate the specific heat capacity of the object

Q = m* c * ΔT

⇒With Q = the heat required = 30000 J

⇒with m = the mass of the object = 40.0 grams

⇒with c = the specific heat capacity of the object = TO BE DETERMINED

⇒with ΔT = The change in temperature = T2 - T2 = 25.0 °C - 10.0°C = 15.0 °C

30000 J = 40.0 g * c * 15.0 °C

c = 30000 J / (40.0 g * 15.0 °C)

c = 50 J/g°C

The specific heat capacity of the object is 50 J/g°C ( option 4 is correct)

Draw the structure for 1-nitrobutane, making sure to add all non-zero formal charges.
TiliK225 [7]

The molecular structure of 1-nitrobutane is C_{4} H_{9} NO_{2}. The structure of 1-nitrobutane is shown below.

An atom's formal charge would be determined by the covalent model of chemical bonding, which assumes that almost all chemical bonds include equal sharing of electrons among all atoms, regardless their relative electronegativity.

The structure for 1-nitrobutane, making sure to add all non-zero formal charges

There are four kind of molecule present in 1-nitrobutane and they are carbon, hydrogen , nitrogen and oxygen. Nitrogen is bonded with two oxygen atom out of them one oxygen atom is attached with single bond and second oxygen atom is bonded with double bond. Nitrogen has positive charge whereas oxygen has negative charge.

It is a kind of alkane in with nitro group is attached with alkane group.

A eraser has a mass of 4g and a volume of 2cm3 what is it’s density
sladkih [1.3K]

Answer:

<h3>The answer is 2.0 g/cm³</h3>

Explanation:

The density of a substance can be found by using the formula

density =  \frac{mass}{volume} \\

From the question

mass = 4 g

volume = 2 cm³

We have

density =  \frac{4}{2}  \\

We have the final answer as

<h3>2.0 g/cm³</h3>

Hope this helps you
