Find the energy in joules required to lift a 2,500g object a distance of 500cm

What's happening here is that you're changing the potential energy of this object by lifting it 500cm.

Therefore the energy required to lift it would be the additional potential energy it gains. Look at the equation for potential energy:

PE = m*g*h

and convert and plug in your values:

PE = (2.5kg) * (9.8 m/s²) * (0.5m)
PE = 12.25J

A boat has a mass of 7660 kg. Its engines generate a drive force of 4080 N due west, while the wind exerts a force of 680 N due
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

0.29 m/s due west.

Explanation:

According to newton's second law,

Net force acting on an object = mass×acceleration

From the question,

F+F₁+F₂ = ma................ Equation 1

Where F = The force generated from the engine, F₁ = Force exerted by the wind, F₂ = Force exerted due to the water, m = mass of the boat, a = acceleration of the boat.

Given: F = 4080 N , F₁ = -680 N(east), F₂ = -1160 N(east). m = 7660 kg

substitute into equation 1

4080-680-1160 = 7660(a)

2240 = 7660a

Therefore,

a = 2440/7660

a = 0.29 m/s due west.

Newton did not discover gravity, for early humans discovered that whenever they fell. what newton did discover is that gravity _
galben [10]

What Newton discovered is that gravity extends throughout the universe.

What is gravity?

The term gravity refers to the force that acts on a body in the universe. It is gravity that makes an object to fall when it is thrown up. The force of gravity acts on every object in the universe and it extends through the universe.

Humans have always known about gravity when they fall from a height and when they threw things up. However, human did not know that gravity extends throughout the universe.

Thus, what Newton discovered is that gravity extends throughout the universe.

If you have two objects on the edge of a cliff, how can you determine which one has the most potential energy?
True [87]

Answer: now take this with a grain of salt because I'm in middle school but I think that the more massive object has more potential energy.

A daring 510-N swimmer dives off a cliff with a running horizontal leap. What must her minimum speed be just as she leaves the t
oee [108]

Answer:

v_x = 1.26 m/s

Explanation:

given,

weight of swimmer = 510 N

length of ledge, L = 1.75 m

vertical height of the cliff, h = 9 m

speed of the swimmer = ?

horizontal velocity of the swimmer should be that much it can cross the wedge.

distance = speed x time

d = v_x × t

1.75 = v_x × t ........(1)

now,time taken by the swimmer to cover 9 m

initial vertical velocity of the swimmer is zero.

using equation of motion for time calculation

s = ut +\dfrac{1}{2}gt^2

9= 0+\dfrac{1}{2}\times 9.8\times t^2

 t² = 1.938

 t = 1.39 s

same time will be taken to cover horizontal distance.

now, from equation 1

1.75 = v_x × 1.39

v_x = 1.26 m/s

horizontal speed of the swimmer is equal to 1.26 m/s

How many earths can fit on the moon
liberstina [14]
Hello My Dear Friend!

Do you mean Sun or actually Moon?

If Moon is what you're looking for...then that is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE, due to that the Earth is WAY bigger than the Moon, therefore, not even HALF of the Earth would fit into the Moon since it's too small XD.

But if it's Sun...well then, the Answer is that it would take 1.3 million Earths to fill up the Sun. That's a lot of Earths LOL XD
