Sarah, who has a mass of 55 kg, is riding in a car at 20 m/s. She sees a cat crossing the street and slams on the brakes! Her se

atbelt stops her from flying forward, bringing her to rest in 0.5 seconds. How much force did the seatbelt put on Sarah? Explain how you got the answer.

Answer: 2200 N

Let's break down the question into an equation.

F = (mass)(acceleration) = ma

m = 55 kg

Vi = 20 m/s

t = 0.5 s

Vf = 0 m/s (since she was put to rest)

a=(Vf-Vi)/t

a=(0-20)/5

a = 40 m/s^2 (decelerating)

F = ma = (55 kg)(40 m/s^2)

F = 2200 N

Hope I helped!

You have designed a rocket to be used to sample the local atmosphere for pollution. It is fired vertically with a constant upwar
ira [324]

Answer:

the highest point the rocket reaches is y_{max}=11,167.35meters=11.17km

Explanation:

Hi

First of all we are going to use y=\frac{at^{2} }{2} while the engine is on, so y=\frac{19m/s^{2}(20s)^{2} }{2}=3800m.

Second, we're going to find the speed as the engine shuts off, so we havev=a*t=(19m/s)(20s)=380m/s

Third, we need the time when the rocket reaches max high after engine turns off, to do that we use v=v_{0} -gt=380m/s-9.8m/s^{2} (t), then we isolate t, t=\frac{380m/s}{9.8m/s^{2} } =38.77s

Finally we can find highest point by using y=y_{0} +v_{0} *t-\frac{g*t^{2} }{2} =3800m+380m/s*(38.77s)-\frac{9.8m/s^{2}*(38.77s)^{2}  }{2}=11167.35m

The transmission of heat requiring the movement of a liquid or a gas is A. transduction. B. convection. C. conduction. D. radiat
madreJ [45]

The correct answer is convection

In liquids and gases, convection is the most prominent method for the transfer of energy or heat. Convection is caused by the movement of the hotter particles to a region of colder particles takes place. This results in making the whole liquid or gas hot or warm.

Example: The water bubbles in boiling water moves from bottom to the top of the pan to cover the colder water present at the top.

This is because of convection.

Collect information about working of geyser and prepare a report
True [87]

Getting somebody else to find information for you and write a report for you
is a great way for you to inform yourself on information that you need to do
your job, if you pay the other person for the work, and if the information stops
when it gets to you or else his name stays on it wherever else it goes.

If it's research and writing that you're expected to do in order to learn how to
find information and write a report, and you put your own name on the report
and hand it to somebody else, then it has several names and none of them
is pretty.

You're too young to get in that habit, and plus it's immoral, unethical, dishonest,
and stupid.  Nobody really needs that report, you're being asked to write it for
your own education and benefit, and you don't learn anything if you don't do it.

Finally and in conclusion, if you're still cheating when you get to the big leagues,
it's going to cost you a lot more than 5 Brainly points for a decent research report.
