The main difference between absolute and apparent magnitude is that apparent magnitude measures the observed brightness of an object from any point, whereas absolute magnitude calculates the brightness of the object as seen from a standard distance away from the object.

The big difference is simply amatter of the distance between the light source and you.

If you hold a little flashlight in your hand and shine it into your eye, it's almost painfully bright. But it appears pretty dim if it's a mile away from you.

Same with stars.

Camera flashes charge a capacitor to high voltage by switching the current through an inductor on and off rapidly. In what time
Ber [7]

Answer:

The value is  \Delta  t = 4.0 *10^{-7} \  s

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

  The current is \Delta  I  = 0.100 \  A

  The  inductor  is L  =  2.0mH  =  2.0*10^{-3} \  H

  The voltage induced is  \epsilon   =  500 V

Generally the emf induced is mathematically represented as

      \epsilon =  L  *  \frac{\Delta I }{\Delta  t }

Here  \Delta t is the time taken

=>  \Delta  t =  \frac{L  * \Delta  I }{\epsilon }

=>  \Delta  t =  \frac{2*10^{-3}  * 0.100 }{500  }

=>  \Delta  t = 4.0 *10^{-7} \  s

A bullet is shot horizontally from shoulder height (1.5 m) with an initial speed 200 m/s. (a) How much time elapses before the b
daser333 [38]

Answer:

<h2>a) Time elapsed before the bullet hits the ground is 0.553 seconds.</h2><h2>b) The bullet travels horizontally 110.6 m</h2>

Explanation:

a)  Consider the vertical motion of bullet

We have equation of motion s = ut + 0.5 at²

        Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s

        Acceleration, a = 9.81 m/s²

        Displacement, s = 1.5 m

     Substituting

                      s = ut + 0.5 at²

                      1.5 = 0 x t + 0.5 x 9.81 xt²

                      t = 0.553 s

      Time elapsed before the bullet hits the ground is 0.553 seconds.

b) Consider the horizontal motion of bullet

We have equation of motion s = ut + 0.5 at²

        Initial velocity, u = 200 m/s

        Acceleration, a = 0 m/s²

        Time, t = 0.553 s

     Substituting

                      s = ut + 0.5 at²

                      s = 200 x 0.553 + 0.5 x 0 x 0.553²

                      s = 110.6 m

      The bullet travels horizontally 110.6 m

The Coefficient of kinetic friction between the tires of your car and the roadway is \"μ\". (a) If your initial speed is \"v\" a

We make use of the equation: v^2=v0^2+2a Δd. We substitute v^2 equals to zero since the final state is halting the truck. Hence we get the equation           -<span>v0^2/2a = Δd. F = m a from the second law of motion. Rearranging, a = F/m
