The balanced reaction would be:

C12H22O11 + 12O2 = 12CO2 + 11H2O

We are given the amount of oxygen used in the combustion. This will be the starting point of our calculation. We use the ideal gas equation to find for the number of moles.

n = PV / RT = 1.00(250 L) / (0.08206 atm L/mol K ) 273 K
n= 11.16 mol O2

11.16 mol O2 (12 mol CO2 / 12 mol O2) = 11.16 mol CO2

V = nRT/P =11.16 mol CO2 x 273 K x 0.08206 atm L/mol K / 1 atm
V=250 L

Potassium chlorate (KClO3) decomposes to form potassium chloride (KCl) and pure oxygen (O2) gas as shown below.
LuckyWell [14K]
The balanced chemical reaction is:

2KClO3 ----> 2KCl + 3O2

We are given the amount of oxygen gas to be produced from potassium chlorate. This will be the starting point for the calculations.

28.0 L O2 ( 1 mol / 22.4 L) (2 mol KClO3 / 3 mol O2) ( 122.55 g / 1 mol) = 102.13 g KClO3 is needed

How is a salt formed during a neutralization reaction?
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:

C. A metal ion takes the place of the hydrogen of an acid

Explanation:

When an acid react with base neutralization reaction take place.

During neutralization reaction water and salt are formed.

For example;

Base sodium hydroxide react with hydrochloric acid and form sodium chloride and water.

The sodium hydroxide consist of sodium metal ion in the form of Na⁺ and OH⁻. when it react with acid hydrogen atom of acid replace by sodium metal and react with anion of acid and form salt called sodium chloride.

Chemical equation:

NaOH + HCl → NaCl + H₂O
