a because the spoon is a solid and the hot chocolate is a liquid.So that means that spoon moves slower than a liquid.

Answer: Option (c) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

As we know that spoon is a solid substance and in solids particles are held by strong intermolecular forces of attraction.

As a result, these particles only vibrate at their mean position but they do not move or collide with each other.

On the other hand, particles of hot chocolate will have high kinetic energy due to which they will move rapidly and collide with each other.

So, when we stir a spoon in a cup of hot chocolate then heat energy from the hot chocolate will be released into the surroundings. This will make the particles of hot chocolate to come closer to each other.

Thus, we can conclude that the spoon keep its shape in the drink because the spoon's particles do not move while the hot chocolate's particles move close to one another.

The freezing point of ethanol, CH3CH2OH, is -117.300 °C at 1 atmosphere. Kf(ethanol) = 1.99 °C/m
MAXImum [283]

Answer : The molecular weight of this compound is 891.10 g/mol

Explanation :  Given,

Mass of compound = 12.70 g

Mass of ethanol = 216.5 g

Formula used :

\Delta T_f=i\times K_f\times m\\\\T_f^o-T_f=i\times T_f\times\frac{\text{Mass of compound}\times 1000}{\text{Molar mass of compound}\times \text{Mass of ethanol}}

where,

\Delta T_f = change in freezing point

T_f^o = temperature of pure ethanol = -117.300^oC

T_f = temperature of solution = -117.431^oC

K_f = freezing point constant of ethanol = 1.99^oC/m

i = van't hoff factor = 1   (for non-electrolyte)

m = molality

Now put all the given values in this formula, we get

(-117.300)-(-117.431)=1\times 1.99^oC/m\times \frac{12.70g\times 1000}{\text{Molar mass of compound}\times 216.5g}

\text{Molar mass of compound}=891.10g/mol

Therefore, the molecular weight of this compound is 891.10 g/mol

What is the wavelength of the line corresponding to n=4 in the balmer series? express your answer in nanometers to three signifi
liq [111]
Expression for the Balmer series to find the wavelength of the spectral line is as follows:
1 / λ = R (\frac{1}{2^{2} } -  \frac{1}{ n^{2}} )
Where, λ is wavelength, R is Rydberg constant, and n is integral value (4 here →  Fourth level)
Substitute 1.097 x 10⁷ m⁻¹ for R and 4 for n in the above equation
1 / λ = (1.097 x 10⁷ m⁻¹) (\frac{1}{2^{2} } -  \frac{1}{4^{2} }  )
   = 0.20568 x 10⁷ m⁻¹
λ = 4.86 x 10⁻⁷ m
since 1 m = 10⁹ nm
λ = 486 nm
