The type of map that shows the type and age of rocks in an area is called a Geologic Map. A geologic map is a special-purpose map that represents the distribution of diverse types of rocks, as well as locations of different geologic structures such as faults and folds. This map is the main source of information for various aspects of land-use planning, especially in the placement of transportation systems and buildings. Although they are typically depicted as two-dimensional, they can also be illustrated in its third or fourth dimension depending on the type of information needed to be taken.

What is the oxidation half-reaction for this unbalanced redox equation? cr2o72– + fe2+ → cr3+ + fe3+ cr3+ → cr2o72– cr2o72– → cr
KatRina [158]

Answer:

6Fe^2+(aq) -------> 6Fe^3+(aq) + 6e

Explanation:

The balanced oxidation half equation is;

6Fe^2+(aq) -------> 6Fe^3+(aq) + 6e

A redox reaction is actually an acronym for oxidation-reducation reaction. Since the both reactions are complementary, there can't be oxidation without reduction and there can't be reduction without oxidation.

The main characteristic of redox reactions is that electrons are transferred in the process. The number of electrons transferred is usually deduced from the balanced reaction equation. For this reaction, the balanced overall reaction equation is;

Cr2O7^2–(aq) + 6Fe^2+(aq) +14H^+(aq)→ 2Cr^3+(aq) + 6Fe^3+ (aq) + 7H2O(l)

It is clear from the equation above that six electrons were transferred. Thus six Fe^2+ ions lost one electron each in the oxidation half equation as shown in the balanced oxidation half equation above.

Notice that "SO4" appears in two different places in this chemical equation. SO42− is a polyatomic ion called "sulfate." What nu
vichka [17]

Answer:

3.

Explanation:

Hello,

In this case, it is convenient to write the chemical reaction as:

CaSO_4+AlCl_3\rightarrow CaCl_2+Al_2(SO_4)_3

Which balanced turns out:

3CaSO_4+2AlCl_3\rightarrow 3CaCl_2+Al_2(SO_4)_3

Thus the number that should be in front of the calcium sulfate is 3 in order to balance the reaction.

Best regards.

astra-53 [7]
All elements are made up of atoms. ➢ Atoms are made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons. Two different kinds of atoms can combine to form a compound. A molecule is a combination of atoms that cannot be broken apart while still retaining the same properties as the larger substance that it is a part of.

A sample with a molar mass of 34.00 g/mol is found to consist of 5.9783% Hydrogen and 94.0217% oxygen. Find it’s molecular formu
kozerog [31]

Answer:

The formula is H202 (hydrogen peroxide, known as hydrogen peroxide)

Explanation:

100%----34g

5, 9783%---X= (5, 9783%x 34g)/100% =2 g

1g---1 atom of H

2g----x= 2g x 1 atom of H/1g = 2 atom of H

100%----34g

94, 0217%---X= (94,0217%x 34g)/100% =32 g

16g---1 atom of 0

32g----x= 32g x 1 atom of 0/16g = 2 atom of 0
