The DNA in mitochondria controls the making of transfer RNA and ribosomal RNA molecules.

Explanation:

Mitochondria produces energy from food used by the cells. But little do we know that apart from chromosomes, mitochondria have 37 DNA in it. Among which the 13 are used to make enzymes used in oxidative phosphorylation and the rest is used in making tRNA or transfer RNA and rRNA or ribosomal RNA molecules. These molecules help in assembling protein building blocks.
