Answer:

The number of moles of SO₃ produced by  SO₂  are less so it is limiting reactant.

Explanation:

Given data:

Number of moles of SO₂ = 3.1 mol

Number of moles of O₂ = 2.7 mol

Limiting reactant = ?

Solution:

Chemical equation;

2SO₂ + O₂ → 2SO₃

Now we will compare the moles of SO₃ with O₂  and  SO₂.

                      SO₂         :       SO₃

                         2           :        2

                        3.1          :       3.1

                       O₂           :        SO₃

                          1            :          2

                         2.7          :         2×2.7 = 5.4 mol

The number of moles of SO₃ produced by  SO₂  are less so it is limiting reactant.

Under certain conditions Argon gas diffuses at a rate of 3.2 cm per second under the same conditions an unknown gas diffuses at
kozerog [31]

Answer:

20 g/mol

Explanation:

We can use <em>Graham’s Law of diffusion</em>:

The rate of diffusion (<em>r</em>) of a gas is inversely proportional to the square root of its molar mass (<em>M</em>).

r = \frac{1 }{\sqrt{M}}

If you have two gases, the ratio of their rates of diffusion is

\frac{r_{2}}{r_{1}} = \sqrt{\frac{M_{1}}{M_{2}}}

Squaring both sides, we get

(\frac{r_{2}}{r_{1}})^{2} = \frac{M_{1}}{M_{2}}

Solve for <em>M</em>₂:

M_{2} = M_{1} \times (\frac{r_{1}}{r_{2}})^{2}

M_{2} = \text{39.95 g/mol} \times (\frac{\text{3.2 cm/s}}{\text{4.5 cm/s}})^{2}= \text{39.95 g/mol} \times (0.711 )^{2}

= \text{39.95 g/mol} \times 0.506 = \textbf{20 g/mol}

What is the value of quantum numbers (n, l, ml, ms) of 2p^3?
eduard

Answer:

Explanation:

First digit of the 2p^3  gives you value of n,  in this case its = 2, So, n= 2

Second alphabet gives you the value of l,

l=0 =s

l=1 =p

l=3=d

l=4=f

since  "p" is the alphabet  in 2p^3, so in your case lt shoudlbe = 1 right?

ml= -l to +l , that is -1, 0, +1

Ms= +1/2  or -1/2 alaways remains same foe evrything.
