Both driving a car and using electricity produce several greenhouse gases which can lead to global warming.Greenhouse gases are gases that, when released into the atmosphere, trap the heat from the sun's energy. Every day the energy from the sun reaches the earth. Some of the energy is reflected back into space and some of the energy is trapped by the earth's atmosphere. Most of the time the energy being trapped by the atmosphere serves to warm up the earth, so that the temperature does not fluctuate dramatically. In this way the atmosphere acts like a greenhouse - trapping the warmth in. One of the ways that electricity is made is by burning fossil fuels, like coal or fuel. When a fuel is burnt, some of the products are: carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and water - all of these gases are greenhouse gases. In a similar way driving a car also burns fossil fuels, and this will produce the same gases.Before lots of fossil fuels were burnt the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere would have been moderated by the carbon cycle. However, if we burn excess fossil fuels we are producing excess greenhouse gases. This can cause more heat to be trapped by the atmosphere and therefore the global temperature will start to rise - global warming. hope i helped

what is the concentration in ppm of a solution which is prepared by dissolving in 15mg of nacl in 200ml water
bezimeni [28]

Answer:

Explanation:

In weight/volume (w/v) terms,

   1 ppm = 1g m-3 = 1 mg L-1 = 1 μg mL-1

200 mL = 0.2 L

15 / 0.2 mg L-1 =75 ppm

Linda performed the following trials in an experiment. Trial 1: Heat 30.0 grams of water at 0 °C to a final temperature of 40.0
nexus9112 [7]

Answer: The correct answer is Option b.

Explanation:

To calculate the amount of heat absorbed or released, we use the following equation:

q=mc\Delta T    .....(1)

where, q = amount of heat absorbed or released.

m = mass of the substance

c = heat capacity of  water = 4.186 J/g ° C

\Delta T = Change in temperature

  • For Trial 1:

We are given:

m=30g\\\Delta T=[40-0]^oC=40^oC\\q=?J

Putting values in equation 1, we get:

q=30g\times 4.186J/g^oC\times 40^oC

q = 5023.2 J

  • For trial 2:

We are given:

m=40g\\\Delta T=[40-30]^oC=10^oC\\q=?J

Putting values in equation 1, we get:

q=40g\times 4.186J/g^oC\times 10^oC

q = 1674.4 J

Heat gained by Trial 1 than trial 2 = (5023.2-1674.4)J=3347J

Hence, the amount of heat gained in Trial 1 about 3347 J more than the heat released in Trial 2.

Thus, the correct answer is Option b.
