A pronghorn antelope has been observed to run with a top speed of 97 km/h. Suppose an antelope runs 1.5 km with an average speed

of 85 km/h, and then runs 0.80 km with an average speed of 67 km/h. How long will it take the antelope to run the entire 2.3 km?
Can you guys Explain this in the most detail possible, I'd really appreciate it.

0.030 hours
First part of run
d = 1.5 km
s = 85 km/h
t = d / s = 1.5/85
t1 = 0.017647 hours
Second part of run
d = 0.80 km
s = 67 km/h
t = d / s = 0.80/67
t2 = 0.011940 hours
t1 + t2 = 0.017647 + 0.011940
= 0.030 ℎours

A 49.6-kg crate rests on a level floor at a shipping dock. The coefficients of static and kinetic friction are 0.584 and 0.399,
NISA [10]

Answer:

(a) Force must be grater than 283.87 N

(B) Force will be equal to 193.945 N

Explanation:

We have given mass of the crate m = 49.6 kg

Acceleration due to gravity g=9.8m/sec^2

Coefficient of static friction \mu _s=0.584

Coefficient of kinetic friction \mu _k=0.399

(a) Static friction force is given by F_S=\mu _smg=0.584\times 49.6\times 9.8=283.8707N

So to just start the crate moving we have to apply more force than 283.87 N

(B) This force will be equal to kinetic friction force

We know that kinetic friction force is given by F_k=\mu _kmg=0.399\times 49.6\times 9.8=193.945N

Could a car drive on a frictionless surface? Explain using the terms action
Julli [10]

Answer:

No, it cannot. The car needs the friction of the surface to drive because the car pushes the surface backwards, and the surfaces makes a reaction force pushing the car forward, and that works because of the friction. In a frictionless surface the tires would rotate in the same place

A scuba diver's tank contains 0.240 kg of o2 compressed into a volume of 3.10 l. what volume (in liters) would this oxygen occup
ohaa [14]
Given:
m = 0.240 kg = 240 g, the mass of O₂
V = 3.10 L = 3.10 x 10⁻³ m³, the volume

Because the molar mass of oxygen is 16, the number of moles of O₂ is
n = (240 g)/(2*16 g/mol) =  7.5 mol

As an ideal gas,
p*V = nRT
or
V = (nRT)/p
where R = 8.314 J/(mol-K)

When
p = 0.910 atm = (0.910 atm) * (101325Pa/atm) = 92205.75 Pa
T = 27 °C = (27 + 273) K = 300 K
then the volume is
V= \frac{(7.5 \, mol)*(8.314 \, J/(mol-K))*(300 \, K)}{(92205.75 \, Pa)} =0.2029 \, m^{3}

V = (0.2029 m³)*(10³ L/m³) = 202.9 L

Answer: 203 liters
