Answer:

Mass of MgO produced = 5.72 g

Explanation:

2Mg + O_2 \rightarrow 2MgO

Mass of Mg = 3.45 g

Molar mass of Mg = 24.305 g/mol

No. of mol of Mg = \frac{Mass\ in\ g}{Molar\ mass}

No. of mol of Mg = \frac{3.45}{24.305}=0.142 mol

From the reaction coefficient,

2 mol of Mg form 2 mol of MgO

So, 0.142 mol of Mg form 0.142 mol of MgO

Molar mass of MgO = 40.3044 g/mol

Mass of MgO in g = No. of mol × Molar mass

                              = 0.142 mol × 40.3044 g/mol

                              = 5.72 g

  The number of grams of Mgo that are produced is calculated as follows
  calculate the moles of Mg used

that  is  moles =mass/molar  mass
=  3.45  g/  24.305g/mol  = 0.142  moles

write  the  equation  for  reaction
that  is   2 Mg  +  O2  =  2 MgO

by use of mole ratio between Mg to Mgo which is 2:2 this implies that the moles of Mgo is also 0.142 moles

mass of Mgo= moles x molar mass of MgO
molar  mass  of  Mgo =  24.305 + ( 3x15.999)  =  72.302  g/mol

mass=  0.142  mol  x  72.302  g/mol=  10.27  grams

Sidana [21]
when heat gained = heat lost

when AL is lost heat and water gain heat

∴ (M*C*ΔT)AL = (M*C*ΔT) water

when M(Al) is the mass of Al= 225g

C(Al) is the specific heat of Al = 0.9

ΔT(Al) = (125.5 - Tf)

and Mw is mass of water = 500g

Cw is the specific heat of water = 4.81

ΔT = (Tf - 22.5)

so by substitution:

∴225* 0.9 * ( 125.5 - Tf) = 500 * 4.81 * (Tf-22.5)

∴Tf = 30.5 °C

If you burn 29.4 g of hydrogen and produce 263 g of water, how much oxygen reacted?
vovikov84 [41]

The reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to form water is given as:

H_2 + O_2 \rightarrow H_2O

The balanced reaction is:

2H_2 + O_2 \rightarrow 2H_2O

According to the balanced reaction,

4 g of hydrogen (4\times 1) reacts with 32 g of oxygen (2\times 16).

So, oxygen reacted with 29.4 g of hydrogen is:

\frac{29.4\times 32}{4} = 235.2 g

Hence, the mass of oxygen that is reacted with 29.4 g of hydrogen is 235.2 g.

A glucose solution has a density of 1.02 g/ml. what is its specific gravity
Makovka662 [10]
Answer is: specific gravity of glucose is 1,02.
d(glucose) = 1,02 g/ml.
d(water) = 1,00 g/ml.
Specific gravity of glucose = density of glucose ÷ density of water.
Specific gravity of glucose = 1,02 g/ml ÷ 1,00 g/ml.
Specific gravity of glucose = 1,02.
Specific gravity is the ratio of the density of a substance (in this case glucose) to the density of a reference substance (water).
