Two loudspeakers are about 10 m apart in the front of a large classroom. if either speaker plays a pure tone at a single frequen

cy of 400 hz, the loudness seems pretty even as you wander around the room, and gradually decreases in volume as you move farther from the speaker. if both speakers then play the same tone together, what do you hear as you wander around the room?

The observed differences in amplitudes are due to interference between the sound waves. The decrease in amplitude is due to destructive interference of the waves and the increase in amplitude is due to constructive interference.

As the person moves around the room, he will find several point where the sound is maximum and several point where there is no sound. It is due to constructive and destructive interference of sound.

Explanation:

The two loudspeakers kept at a distance of 10\text{ m} from one another produce the sound. If the person moving in the room listens to the sound of only one loudspeaker at a time, the intensity of the sound will be higher when he is near the loudspeaker and it will decrease as the person will move away from it.

If both the loudspeakers are switched on, the sound waves from both the loudspeakers can be heard in the room. As the sound waves travel throughout the room, they interfere with one another.

The interference of the sound waves causes the constructive interference and destructive interference in the room. Due to this, there are points of constructive interference where the intensity of the sound is highest due to both speakers.

Whereas at the point of destructive interference, the intensity of the sound is minimum.

Thus, As the person moves around the room, he will find several point where the sound is maximum and several point where there is no sound. It is due to constructive and destructive interference of sound.

The ballistic pendulum is a device used to measure the speed of a projectile such as a bullet. The projectile of mass m is fired
My name is Ann [436]

Answer:

Relation between initial speed of bullet and height h is given as

v = \frac{m + M}{m}\sqrt{2gh}

Explanation:

As we know that system of block and bullet swings up to height h after collision

So we have

(m + M)gh = \frac{1}{2}(m + M)v_1^2

so we have

v_1 = \sqrt{2gh}

so speed of the block + bullet just after the impact is given by above equation

Now we also know that there is no force on the system of bullet + block in the direction of motion

So we can use momentum conservation

mv = (m + M)v_1

now we have

v = \frac{m + M}{m}\sqrt{2gh}

The free-body diagram of a crate is shown. A free body diagram with 4 force vectors. The first vector is pointing downward, labe
satela [25.4K]

The net force acting on the crate is determined as 176 N to the left.

Net force acting on the crate

The net force acting on the crate is calculated as follows;

∑F = F1 + F2 + F3 + F4

F(net) = -440y + 176x + 440y - 352x

F(net) = -176 x

The resultant force is pointing in negative x direction.

Thus, the net force acting on the crate is determined as 176 N to the left.

Give examples of the one element from the alkaline earth metal group and one from the noble gases group. Include each element at
zhuklara [117]
Alkali metals: left column of your periodic table (not hydrogen, but anything below it). They have one valence electron, which they are happy to share in a reaction.

Halogens: second column from the right of your periodic table. They are one electron short of a full shell, so they are reactive in the opposite way that alkalis are--they want electrons.

Atomic number (number of protons) is the big number on the periodic table square. Hydrogen's is 1.

Atomic mass is a little number down below. For example, Hydrogen's is 1.008.

Neutrons are a tricky subject, because different isotopes of the same element can have different numbers of neutrons. You can't generally get this from the atomic mass, because the atomic mass is a weighted average of naturally occurring isotopes. Hydrogen can have 0,1, or 2 neutrons. To answer this, you'd have to choose a particular isotope from the table of isotopes (a completely different chart from the periodic table) which has a certain number of neutrons: n = weight - Z.

Valence electrons are the electrons in the outermost shell. (The column of the table).
