Molar mass of MgCO3 is 84.313 g/mol
You can calculate this from data on the periodic table:
Molar mass Mg = 24.305g/mol
molar mass C = 12.011g/mol
molar mass O = 15.999g/mol mass 3 mol = 47.997g
Total = 84.313g/mol

Mass to be used in 1.2L of 1.5M solution = 84.313g * 1.2L * 1.5mol /L = 151.763g
I have not taken significant figures into account
The balanced equation you provide is not necessary in this calculation

If an atom has 15 protons, 14 neutrons, and 16 electrons, what is the atom's electrical charge? A. -2 B. +1 C. +3 D. -1
Amiraneli [1.4K]

The electrical charge of an atom having 15 proton, 14 neutrons and 16 electrons is -1. The correct option is D.

What is an atom?

An atom is the smallest unit of any matter which comprises of central nucleus and electrons revolving around the nucleus in definite energy shells. The atom is made up of protons, neutrons and electrons.

The electrical charge of an atom can be calculated as,

Charge of an atom = number of protons - number of electrons

Charge = 15 - 16 = -1.

The neutrons are neutral and do not contribute to the charge, the protons are positively charged and electrons are negatively charged in an atom.

Therefore, the charge of an atom with 15 protons, 14 neutrons and 16 electrons is -1. The correct answer is option D.

Calculate the energy in joules and calories required to heat 25.0 g of water from 12.5C to 25.7C
Alex Ar [27]
The heat (Q) required to raise the temp of a substance is:Q=m∗Cp∗ΔT where m is the mass of the object (25.0g in this case), Cp is the specific heat capacity of the substance (for water Cp = 1.00cal/gC, or 4.18J/gC,
and Dt is the change in temp.
You'll have to solve this twice, once with the Cp in calories, and once with the Cp in joules.

This green solution of chromium(III) can further be reduced by zinc metal to a blue solution of chromium(II) ions. Write the bal
Contact [7]

Answer:

Half-reactions:

Cr³⁺ + 1e⁻ → Cr²⁺; Zn → Zn²⁺ + 2e⁻

Net ionic equation:

2Cr³⁺ + Zn → 2Cr²⁺ + Zn²⁺

Explanation:

The Cr³⁺ is reduced to Cr²⁺:

Cr³⁺ + 1e⁻ → Cr²⁺ -Half-reaction 1-

Zn is oxidized to Zn²⁺:

Zn → Zn²⁺ + 2e⁻ -Half-reaction 2-

Twice the reduction of Cr:

2Cr³⁺ + 2e⁻ → 2Cr²⁺

Now this reaction + Oxidation of Zn:

2Cr³⁺ + 2e⁻ + Zn → 2Cr²⁺ + Zn²⁺ + 2e⁻

2Cr³⁺ + Zn → 2Cr²⁺ + Zn²⁺ - Net ionic equation
